ABOUT THE MARATHON:
The Safari International Marathon was intended to encourage local Tanzanian and East African athletes to pursue their dreams in athletics. The project was devised to be ongoing and grow with our country to become more popular amongst young and old athletes and all citizens. The final dream would be for a Sports Center to be built to improve the Tanzanian athletics standards, train for Olympic marathons and International Marathon all over the world.
The future of Safari International Marathon is to eventually blossom into an international event based in Arusha. As running is a sport in which East Africans prevail, we would like to continue to support their training and progress with our Marathon and proposed Sports Center both locally then internationally.
Objectives of the Safari International Marathon:
- To improve the overall standard and status of Tanzanian Athletes by providing a fast course and strong international competition.
- To raise money for sporting and recreational facilities in Arusha.
- Encourage talented Tanzania athletes to be more competitive.
- To help boost Arushas Economy
- To promote Tanzanias Tourism industry Internationally
- To have fun, and provide some happiness and sense of achievement for athletes and citizens in general.
- Sponsor Tanzanian Athletes for International Marathons and even the Olympics
REGISTRATION FEES:
- Local and East African Residents 3000 tsh.
- Non Residents - $50
