Nyani haoni kundule. Serikali yake JK imejaa nepotism, kuanzia kwenye chama chake, BOT, Mikoani, Wilayani na hususani kwenye Cabinet yake halafu anaona vibaya huko AU wakifanya hayo hayo. Kweli waswahili walipatia kuwa na JK naye haoni la kwake.

President Jakaya Kikwete has challenged the new African Union (AU) Commission to avoid nepotism when employing people to the continental body. Speaking to the new commissioners who took over the posts on Monday, the AU chairman said nepotism had been persistent in AU and even during the Organisation of African Unity (OAU).
The chairman said Africa was endowed with a big number of competent people and, therefore, the Commission should hire the best brains, especially the youth. President Kikwete said the Commission was a very sensitive organ, adding that its personnel needed a competent team recruited on merit.
The AU is supposed to have 939 employees and so far it has 634 staff. Mr Kikwete further called on the Commission under the Chairmanship of Mr Jean Ping from Gabon to exercise prudent financial management. President Kikwete said AU financial resources were meagre and scarce that the AU would fail to execute its plans if the resources were misused.
He exhorted the installed Commission to ensure that the AU had clean audited books, an exercise that should preferably be done annually or even regularly when deemed necessary. The chairman said the Commission had an extra task of nurturing the AU into a cohesive union as it was still at its infancy.
The AU was formed in 2002 replacing OAU. The AU chairman challenged the Commissioners that they were a Think Tank of Africa and, therefore, they had to use their expertise and ability to help the continent in making great strides. President Kikwete also met with all employees of the AU at the headquarters shortly after meeting the Commissioners.
He urged them to accord the new commission maximum cooperation as they did to the outgoing Commission under Prof. Alpha Omar Konare of Mali. President Kikwete gave them his popular motto while he was the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation: Better than today, less than tomorrow.
