Jinsi ya kujibu swali la, "Why should we hire you?" kwenye interview

Habari wakuu. Kwa uzoefu wangu wa kufanya interviews zaidi ya 20 kwa kipindi cha miaka 6 iliyopita, moja ya swali ambalo nimekutana nalo mara nyingi ni, "WHY SHOULD WE HIRE YOU?". Kwanza, niwe wazi kuwa hili ni kati ya swali ambalo kiukweli binafsi silipendi kabisa. Kwa nini silipendi? Kwa sababu unaulizwa swali ambalo kwa namna moja au nyingine unalazimika kuanza kujilinganisha na watu wengine ambao unashindana nao kwenye huo usahili ambao hata hauwafahamu. Bahati mbaya ni kwamba swali hili bado linapendwa sana na baadhi ya waajiri na HR.

Je, ujiandaaje kujibu swali la aina hii kwenye usahili? Zingatia yafuatayo:
1.Fanya utafiti/uchunguzi kuhusu kampuni/shirika husika na pia kuhusu hiyo nafasi uliyoomba.

2.Wakati unajibu, hakikisha unafanya ulinganifu (correlation) ya jibu lako unalotoa na majukumu ya hiyo kazi ambayo yameainishwa kwenye 'job descrption' kwenye tangazo la hiyo kazi.

3.Onyesha utofauti wako kwa kuelezea unique skills and/or experience uliyonayo kuhusiana na hiyo nafasi unayoomba.

Hapa chini nitakupa formula ya jinsi ya kujibu hili swali, ikifuatiwa na mfano:
1. From my understanding, one of the key requirements for this position is ... (see from the Job description the key requirement/s for the post).

2. You should hire me because... (Talk about your experience in the sector and the role that makes you a suitable candidate + the specific skills that you have in relation to the role you are applying for).

3. I also learnt that your organization... (talk about one of the strengths of the organization/project that you learnt of in your research about the organization).

4. I know without doubt that my skills and experience in .... will add value and lead to success.

Mfano halisi wa jinsi ya kujibu hilo swali:
Huu ni mfano wa jibu ambalo mimi nilijibu wakati wa interview ya Technical Advisor-HIV Care and Treatment. (I nailed the interview, and an offer letter was extended to me).

Answer: From my understanding, one of the key requirements for this position is the ability to provide high quality technical assistance to regional offices teams in the XX project. You should hire me, because I have more than 6 yrs experience and skills in the provision of technical assistance in the implementation, and monitoring of HIV/AIDS programes that i acquired from my current and previous roles.

I also learnt through my research that your organization values innovation, which is one of my passion and i know without doubt that my experience in Public Health programes will add value and lead to greater success of project XX and the whole organization at large.

Note:Hakikisha unapractise jinsi ya kujibu hili swali na kuandika kabisa kwenye note book namna ambavyo utalijibu hili swali, ili usianze kubabaika utakapoulizwa.

Kwa mfano mimi, nina ka note book kangu huwa nakatumia kwa maandalizi ya interviews, nimeandka haya maswali na namna ya kuyajibu kwa karibu kila interview ambayo nimehudhuria (nimetumia hako ka note book kuandika huu uzi).

Swali lingine la muhimu kujifunza kujibu ni lile swali maarufu la "Tell us about yourself", kuna comment ya kwenye uzi mmoja humu nimeelezea kidogo, haya ni maswali mawili muhimu ambayo LAZIMA ujiandae kuyajibu kabla ya kila interview.

Kabla hujajibu post/comment fulani ni vyema ukasoma kwa makini na kuelewa post husika. Vivyo hivyo pale unapojibu swali ambalo umeulizwa kwa mdomo. Kukosa umakini ni tatizo kwa watu wengi hivi sasa, na ni moja ya sababu inayowakosesha fursa nyingi na kubaki kulalama tu.

Ukitulia na kusoma kwa makini post yangu, badala ya kuisoma haraka haraka na kukimbilia kureply, utagundua kuwa nimeeleza kuwa nilifanya vizuri sana hiyo interview na nilipewa barua ya ofa kwa hiyo position.

Kuhusu ubora wa jibu langu hiyo ni subjective inategemea mtu na mtu. Nimeileta hapa ili atakaeona inafaa aichukue, atakeona haimfai aachane nayo.

Itanisaidia hii maana bado sijawahi kuonja joto la usahili.

Nadhani litakuwa kama lile joto la kwenye chumba cha mtihani ambapo mtu ulikuwa unatokwa majasho ilihali hali ya hewa ni mvua na joto(room temperature) ni chini ya 28°C lakini mtu unajihisi kama joto lipo juu kama unafukizwa.

Hii yote ni kutokana na wasiwasi unaosababisha mtu kupotelewa(ku-vapour) na points alizokuwa amezimeza

Mbona ameeleza kuwa alipata kazi baada ya kufanya vema kwenye interview husika.

Nadhani cha msingi alicholeta mtoa mada ni swali na muundo wa kujibu, kuhusu jibu lake ni sahihi ama lah hiyo inabaki kwako kuliboresha kama una cha kuboresha.

Ila ukiangalia context ya swali unaridhika alichojibu alikuwa in a right direction, alifaulu kwa kiasi gani hiyo huweza pia kutegemea marking scheme ya muajiri.
