Tanzania no longer heaven of peace?

WHEN I read our dailies with headings like RC shoots a daladala driver to death; Tanzanian ambassador steals 2bn/-; BoT made false payment of 133bn/-; Tanzania pays 152m/- daily for a fake Richmond power deal; Zanzibar in everlasting political crisis; Overpriced radar from Britain; Controversial Presidential jet; Demolition of houses; Fake TICTS deal; Buzwagi, Kiwira, Tangold, Meremeta, Reception parties for corrupt leaders, and the list goes on and on - I get convinced that there is a very thin line between insanity and whatever we call peace here in the once heaven of peace.
If peace exists in our nation, then this makes me wonder if peace is really a good philosophy of life! I think we are missing something, somewhere. We do need to seriously re-examine ourselves. Someone once said: You should examine yourself daily. If you find faults, you should correct them. When you find none, you should try even harder. Our problem is that we quit examining ourselves many years ago. So we see no fault. We dont even know the last time we experienced peace as a people. Its time we examined ourselves as a nation.
Otherwise I would suggest we get into the Guinness world Book of Records for becoming the first nation in the whole wide world to have co-existence of injustice and peace.
I, however, think that its just confusion of words. What we call peace is the absence of war, which is not necessarily peace, for peace is not a relationship of nations. It is a condition of mind. By the way Im not sure if the Wanchari have stopped fighting the Wakira in Tarime!
But since we need peace I think we need to work for it. Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. was quoted as saying, Those who love peace must learn to organize as well as those who love war. We as Tanzanians need to be honest to ourselves. We need to organize ourselves as peace-loving people as well as war-lovers.
Pope Paul VI said If you want peace, you must work for justice. Justice is our biggest challenge. We need to work for it. But because of lack of functional law enforcement system we need to work even harder for justice and organize ourselves better.
Otherwise Im really afraid of the future of this nation. And until we get a capable partial law enforcement system, I suggest we be creative. I suggest we adopt George Carlins idea of using signs. He said there are a lot of signs for minor offences and infractions. And they seem to work pretty well.
When people read signs like "Thank you for not smoking"; "Please wait in line" etc they do just that.
Why then dont we have signs that say Murder Strictly Prohibited; or No Raping People and something like Thank you for not conducting business in the State House. Signs are good. Im sure we can use those for a while until we have a good law enforcement system.
