It's the community responsibility as it is the government's too, on selling alcohol and vapes to minors

Certainly, I am truly concerned about how alcohol is being sold in our country. Children under the age of 18 can easily access alcohol, leading to problems and bad drinking habits at such a young age.

This even leads to more mental health problems because when the alcohol is out of their system, reality hits, and everything becomes really challenging for them to face whatever hardships they are encountering at that particular moment.

To top it off, e-cigarettes, commonly known as vapes, are being smoked excessively by youngsters due to school tension, adolescent anxiety, and peer pressure. But parents aren't aware, and neither are teachers.

These youngsters or teenagers smoke at home, in school bathrooms, and in recreational areas, but the community does nothing, nor do the people who sell these things to these young teenagers. I understand kids these days look a bit older, and it can be easy to just sell to them without checking their age.

Maybe there should be a system where people who are selling alcohol and vapes are required to demand identification cards that will verify their ages.

While the government should look into this issue, the community at large also has a part to play. A famous proverb says that a child is raised by the village. Let us be a good village and raise our children well.

If we don't look into it, we are creating a community of insensitive people, thugs, criminals and a broken community for the future of Tanzania.

You're so right but sadly, your expectations are too high! The world and it's people are so chaotic and no body cares. The only thing you can do is make changes on you and you alone. Then those around you can change too. Alcohol and drugs have always been available but and it's market is getting popular due to high rates of people with mental issues.

The issue is selling these to kids, if the whole community does something, we could help....

The community you are talking about doesn't even care! All they care about is business even those people concerned are the ones pushing them drugs

Sadly, but if more voice is going to rise, and certain education is going to be given may be a change that u think can't happen can happen?

Thank you for inviting me .

Baada ya hapo wazazi wajitahidi kuwa responsible to their kids .

Ikiwa mzazi attimiza wajibu wake ipasavyo basi tutakiokoa kizazi .

Serikali yetu ni masikini Sana na inategemea mapato kutoka katika viwanda vya pombe so don't expect the immediate change if will decline our responsibility and left the burden on the government shoulder.

Before the biggerr group of the community, we first have to start at the family level, it is well known that “ community is a crucial agent of socialization”, the problem is that, the sense of family has now gone, parents are busy to make money, most children are indoctrinated by schools and communities of which they are around. Now daya home is a place for sleeping and watching cartoons, no real lessons taught.

True, that's very devastating but even schools as the part of socialization, teachers can barely help n this. I feel like may be schools should have seminars to talk about effects of drugs and alcohol and show really of how people struggle for rehabilitation to make their lives better so as as well they can know the responsibilities.

Parents need to find ways on how to teach and educate their kids, it could be 30 mins afterwork or on weekends as well, It's scary to think about it and wonder how the future of most teenager is going to be

No way, you can’t add more work for teachers unless they are doubled of the current size, teaching class subjects and then focusing on moral issues is not easy.
Things will be more worse as we keep turning into more “individual values rather than family or community values “ we now act as floating atoms, more focus on self.
