At least two firefighters said injured in fire at chemical plant near Qom, south of Tehran

A massive blaze hit an industrial complex near Iran's holy city of Qom, south of Tehran, the country's state media reported.

At least two firefighters were injured as they worked to contain the flame at the Movaledan chemical plant, with one of them in a critical state.
Other early reports put the number of injuries at six, with no references to any fatalities in the incident.
While the fire is now under control, as per Iranian media reports, it caused heavy material damage, with at least two fire engines and five passenger vehicles burned.

A massive blaze hit an industrial complex near Iran's holy city of Qom, south of Tehran, the country's state media reported.

At least two firefighters were injured as they worked to contain the flame at the Movaledan chemical plant, with one of them in a critical state.
Other early reports put the number of injuries at six, with no references to any fatalities in the incident.
While the fire is now under control, as per Iranian media reports, it caused heavy material damage, with at least two fire engines and five passenger vehicles burned.

At least 20 fire engines and 150 firefighters reportedly arrived on the scene as footage circulating on social media captured pillars of black and white smoke rising over the blaze.
According to local reports, several explosions were heard in the area, but Iran's firefighters said they managed to prevent the flame from reaching the alcohol tanks on the site.
The cause of the blaze is not immediately clear.
Last summer, a series of mysterious blazes and blasts hit Iran, including its nuclear sites, with some blaming the developments on Israel.
