In search of Our own Intifada..In our lifetime?

Duh, Mag3 umenifurahisha na hako kasungura.

Ok, everybody wants a revolution of somekind, that we all agree on. The question is, who will start it? It seems everybody who starts to even wiggle a finger is quickly shut up or booed down ili mradi full vurugu.

I will injinia, I will...but...., are you ready to support me? how many are you? we may be only two, three, four...Failure is not an option, but sometime is inevitable. How society will perceive this? it is not the very same society that will mock us? na kusema wamefulia? wakati ulikuwa unapigania for their benefits? Or am I coward by foreseeing this?

Aren't we all cowards? Hiding behind (non-sensical) aliases and avatars?

I am 1. With you that makes us 2. With Rev Kishoka = 3. With, with, with...
That's the problem. We are all (well most of us) revolutionaries. We may think alike. But we are separated by our aliases. By they miles of cyber-space in between us. And THAT is where the puppet-masters gain their strength.

Who is Waberoya? Who is Injinia?

Kind of like passive resistance? How can a resistance be passive and not active? This is one of the tactics that Dr. King used during the civil rights era....

Aisee nitumie zile nondo ulizopata kwenye Dk. King Center, hivi nikitaja kuinteni humo kama wewe natakiwa kufanya nini?

Poa. Ila mshikaji ali-slow down 'intifada' ya kina Malcolm X. Unakumbuka Malcolm alisema yeye haoni Dream kama King. Anachoona ni Nightmare! Akagoma ku-turn the other cheek!

Sasa nani angeumia? Wazungu au Waafrika?

I hear a lot about revolutions.

Political revolutions are invariably illusions which end up replacing the old order of oppression with a new order of oppression, this has been the case the world over, from Vico, Michelet, The French Revolution, Marx, Engels, Lenin, Castro, Karume, Mengistu all the way to Putin-Medveyev.

What we need is a gradual grassroot movement for change.

Malcolm baada kutembelea Afrika alibadili mbinu.

Dk King alipunguza makali hayo yote.

I hope its not intifada that we witnessed few years ago in Palestine. But.. if its an awakening of sort where citizens will demand their rights and political opportunities until they get them then it is something to cause to happen. However, this needs leadership and a clear idea what is the goal.

We CAN not have an intifada like the one in Palestine, we will ALL lose. In Palestine, no one has won yet and the two communities live in a continued state of distrust, fear and anxiety.

I'll call for "mwamko wa kifikra".. kama ule wa Iran, Thailand, Ukraine, Georgia n.k let me call it "The Golden Revolution"... ikimaanisha utetezi wa raslimali zetu.

Si tii chumvi wala siongezi neno. I am shoked to read this kwani mnadhani ni utani....Two weeks a go in one of the villages hapahapa Tanzania one of the common wananchi posed to me a question which I could not answer kwani nilikua nikijaribu kuwapoza kwakuwaambia watumie democracy kukataa viongozi wasio wapenda... the conclusion was from him..." Dada nakuomba ujaribu kupanda magari yetu - canter kutoka ... mpaka ... kama utarudia tena kujaribu kupanda basi ndo ulete hadithi zako za kupiga kura ama sivyo dada jiandae usidhani utaendelea kula kuku na mrija kama ulivyozoea eti tutapiga kura ili nyninyi muendelee kula.... Sisi tunajipanga kufanaya kweli mpaka adabu ipatikane hizo ngonjera zako uje nazo tukishashikishana adabu."

Nilijisikia mdogo mno lakini I learnt something. Si wakati wote watanzania watakubali kudanganywa. Mwenye maono ya mbali atakubaliana nami if we do not do something the future of this country ni mbaya kuliko tunavyojipa moyo. Social capital imeondoka kabisa so you can expect anything from anywhere maana hata wafanyakazi serikalini hawakubali tena kufanya kwa maslahi ya taifa (I had to pay people to get information which was supposed to be given free of charge chakusikitisha wana demand 2000TAS jamani bora hata ingekua zaidi so think of what can happen kama dau ni kubwa uzalendo utakuapo?). Uzalendo ni hadithi tulizosoma zamani.... Bei zetu zinatofautiana tu wengine ni 2000, some 200 Mil and few 2bil. huku tukiuza nchi yetu taratibu bila kujua at the end of the day ni sisi sote tuta fall kuwa victims. Who cares God forbid; if we want we can bring a programed change; the choice is ours let us choose before it is too late.

revolutions are sometimes necessary; the American revolution for one gave to the world the most inspiring and enduring political experiment by a free people. The contribution of the ideas inspired by American revolution and before that the French revolution have been the basis of many other revolutions the world over.

Mapinduzi yasiyofikia lengo hilo basi yameshindwa. Na hii inajumlisha mapinduzi ya aina zote.

IT seems,in this thread we got one too many PAPER TIGERS and DAYDREAMERS

And what does that make you?

Come on, we have to start somewhere. If each one of us uses every opportunity to inform a less-informed Tanzanian of what is and what can be, imagine the impact that will have.

Dissin' every effort will not get us anywhere.

Hili ni tabaka linalojizatiti kutawala - they are there to stay unless they are removed forcefully. Tuendelee kuukumbatia umasikini.

It is funny that you mentioned the American Revolution, that height of hypocrisy. Your mentioning of that farcical illusion steeped in lofty ideals only serves to illuminate my point further.

The founders established the tenets of the revolution on enlightened and renaissance ideals, highly influenced by the French and their erudition of the equality of man as famously espoused in their contitution and bill of rights.

Only to define "man" as the landed white man, excluding slaves, women and poor whites.

It is only through gradual changes that America remotely started to redeem itself, and even today the lofty ideals of equality and justice remain a Selassian ideal, to be pursued but never attained.

Kiranga it seems you believe in evolution rather than revolution, even Mwalimu once believed in that!

Kiranga it seems you believe in evolution rather than revolution, even Mwalimu once believed in that!

Even if one was to take his cues from the natural world, so would seem to be the case.

Even the so called "Copernican Revolution" in the then natural philosophy was more of an evolution than a true revolution.

The best we can do is catalyse the reactions and speed up the process. Revolutions per se are bound to disappoint, we have examples abound.

Speeding Evolution = Sparking Revolution

Would you also say the Industrial Revolution was an Evolution?
