I’ve had a chance to listen to a video clip in which the President expressed his disappointment in the Tanzania mainstream media.
President Magufuli showed disappointment on how the media blatantly shunned the news on Serengeti N.P being named the best tourist destination world over.
The media instead opted to cover the arrest of the reknown #teleza. I vividly concur with the President.
The #teleza issue making it on newspaper front pages is indeed a “joke” bearing in mind there was better news that was worth. Our newspapers are so concentrated on skyrocketing revenues, rather than content significance.
Back to the human rights activists. There was no human rights infringment in the President’s statement. He neither showed support nor contempt on the #teleza issue.
He simply expressed his disappointment on how such trivia would make it on headlines thus tarnishing our nation’s image!
