Tanzania's outstanding performance and progress prompted the * African Leadership Magazine * (ALM) to announce that President John Magufuli was the 2018 recipient of the ALM Political Leadership Award - Political Leadership for 2018.

The magazine's editor, Dr. Ken Giami, revealed that President Magufuli won 62.66% of the vote in front of three other African presidents, namely: Bola Ahmed Tinubu, national leader of APC, Nigeria (10.41% HE Cyril Ramaphosa, President of South Africa (8.82%) and HE Nana Akufo-Addo, President of Ghana (18.11%).

According to Dr. Giam, who unveiled the nominees and later the winners at the group's UK headquarters, the nominations for the 2018 edition of People of the Year magazine drew nominations from Africa's East, West, South, North, and South.

The publisher stated that "all candidates have gone beyond the obvious challenges that their community has posed to them to achieve greatness in their own way, but in different roles." The publisher said the pre-selection list was preceded by a call for applications that attracted more than 250 entries, both inside and outside the continent.

The annual African Leadership Magazine is designed to showcase and celebrate the best African political, political and diplomatic leaders who contribute to the growth and development of continents.

The year 2018, The African Leadership Magazine People of the year were classified according to four major themes: Africans whose activities, policies, and actions have contributed to investment in African youth, job creation and wealth, promoting the sustainable development of peace, promoting democratic values; & promoting the image of Africa on a global scale.

This is the second time after the Africa 54 online magazine that President Magufuli has been named Africa's second best president in 2018 after former Botswana President Ian Khama. The Gala Dinner will take place on January 22, 2019, in Sandton, South Africa.

According to the Africa 54 online magazine, President Magufuli has done wonders for the country of Tanzania, probably more than any other African leader. These are some of the wonders that prompt President Magufuli to continue receiving awards around the world.

President Magufuli is the right person. This has been demonstrated by his struggles to fight corruption in the country. Since taking office in November 2015, Magufuli has restored lost trust in Western donors by dismissing officials who are deemed incompetent and corrupt.

For example, in 2016, Magufuli sacked six senior Tanzanian tax officials, including Commissioner General Rashid Bade. Tanzania Ports Authority chief executive Ephraim Mgawe was also suspended following a scandal involving the non-payment of 40 million dollars (35.1 million euros) in import taxes. Magufuli has also dismissed Edward Hoseah, the long-serving director of the Office of Prevention and Anti-Corruption (PCCB), because of the slow pace of the fight against corruption.

He relaunched the national airline (ATCL). Six new aircraft have been purchased so far. Of these, four aircraft have been received and operate all inside and outside the country. These include two Airbus 220-300 jets, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and two new bombers. Credible sources explain that President Magufuli has given priority to investing in Air Tanzania to revive the deficit carrier and boost the tourism sector, a major source of foreign exchange

Since 2016, President Magufuli's government has begun to implement the free secondary education policy for the whole of Tanzania. It was and is the story that has never been made in this country. The government allocates more than $ 62 million annually in the budget to meet this goal.

In terms of road construction, President Magufuli continues to link all parts of the country and reduce congestion in cities. For example, recently, the president laid the foundation stone for the construction of a 19.2 km eight-lane duo in Dar es Salaam (Mbezi - Kibamba) to reduce congestion in the city. There are many examples of built roads and bridges, but not enough to explain them.

The signing of a historic agreement with an Egyptian company on the construction of the Stigler's Gorge hydroelectric project in a game reserve is another impossible project that President Magufuli has worked hard to implement.

It had been proposed by the father of the nation (Mwalimu Julius Nyerere), but it was implemented only recently when the agreement was signed between two governments (Tanzania and Egypt). The project will generate 2,115 megawatts, more than any electricity generated from all other sources in Tanzania, which currently stands at 1,560 megawatts.

President Magufuli recently defined the new formula used to calculate pension benefits before the meager social security fund until 2023. The new regulation for retirees, which provides for 25% package and 75% monthly fee, has provoked an uproar on the part of workers, politicians, and trade. trade unionists.

It should be noted that since President Magufuli took office in 2015, President Magufuli has worked tirelessly to serve the interests of the country and its citizens through various social projects and services.
