According to Dr. Giam, who unveiled the nominees and later the winners at the group's UK headquarters, the nominations for the 2018 edition of People of the Year magazine drew nominations from Africa's East, West, South, North, and South.
The publisher stated that "all candidates have gone beyond the obvious challenges that their community has posed to them to achieve greatness in their own way, but in different roles."
