Maldini: "We have needs in some roles. If you look for quality profiles they are very expensive. We have many players in sight, strong and with different characteristics. We must not be in a hurry to try to make as little mistakes as possible."

Maldini: "So many players have left us at the end of their contracts and even at the numerical level we have to intervene."

Maldini: "We must remember that we have players who still have to join the team and are already part of this squad. Milan's transfer market idea is to improve the team. Four midfielders have left and that's where we'll have to to intervene."

Maldini: "Bennacer and Veretout? They are two profiles that we discussed. The modalities of the market are negotiations, opportunities and choice. We want to give a complete team to the coach as soon as possible, we are working."

Maldini: "Occasionally I read that there are certain targets that aren't necessarily ours that then go to other clubs, so they are players that we failed to land… but you know, these are clearly news that are not coming out of the club."

Ricky Massara: "Many profiles are linked to Milan, we are evaluating. We want to bring functional profiles only in a team that is already good."

Massara to reporters: "The market is long and it is also made up of in and out opportunities. It's all about the evaluations we make. Do not worry we know well what we need, we confront each other with the coach. This team is already competitive."

Massara: "We will make targeted purchases, we will be ready to seize every opportunity to strengthen the team in a functional way."

Massara to reporters: "You don't lack imagination, you are very prolific in providing names."

Rade Krunic, during his official presentation, answered a question about Bennacer, his former Rossoneri teammate and future: I think Bennacer is ready, I never talked to anyone about him, I only spoke with Empoli first to have arrived at Milan, I was wondering how it was possible that he played with us, he is very very strong, he is very ready for a jump like this and to arrive in a great team. I played with Paredes and in the National game with Pjanic, Bennacer is very close to them, I would like his arrival, he could do very well ".

Empoli’s sporting director has confirmed that midfielder Ismael Bennacer is joining Milan. “I see Gattuso in him, their fans will love him.”

Bennacer is on the verge of a €16m move to Milan after a breakout campaign for Empoli, while he helped Algeria win the Africa Cup of Nations on Friday and was named the tournament’s best player.
“He’s tactically an interesting player, he’s likeable and he’s always been loved by his teammates,” Pietro Accardi told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Everyone loves him in the dressing room because he never holds anything back. He wants to get to the top and he’ll get there.
“He must be grateful to Empoli because we’re a club where young players can grow and improve a lot.

“I see Gattuso in Bennacer because he has a great desire to fight. I remember something he did against Fiorentina: Ismael wins the ball back, an opponent falls on him and he takes a cut to his tibia.
“He gets up to win the ball back again, then we gave him seven stitches. The fans at San Siro will love him: they want to see players who sweat and fight until the final whistle.”

Giampaolo is expecting more signings and what is filtering from Casa Milan is that a big signing will be made towards the end of the transfer window.

GdS: AC Milan want to follow up Correa signing with Zaracho
By Oliver Fisher - July 21, 2019

AC Milan are chasing a move for Racing star Matias Zaracho to follow up the signing of Angel Correa, according to a report.

Now, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport‘s Nicolo Schira, attentions have turned to agreeing a fee with Atleti. The LaLiga giants had set an initial asking price of €50million, but Maldini wants to pay €35m.

In addition, Schira claims that the club are ready to push for another young star to help compliment Correa’s arrival in Matias Zaracho.

The 21-year-old is being viewed as an option for the trequartista position meaning he would not compete with Correa, who is cast as a second striker.

In the next few hours a meeting between Maldini and Atletico Madrid is expected to try to close for #Correa. 10 million € between offer and demand, as the Colchoneros continue to evaluate the Argentine no less than 50 million euro.
Meanwhile, Patrick Cutrone, on the other hand, is making resistance, not enthusiastic about going to Wolverhampton.

*REINA: MILAN CLARITY UNDER GIAMPAOLI*

*Pepe Reina believes Milan will have ‘very clear ideas’ under Marco Giampaolo and is happy to keep mentoring Gianluigi Donnarumma and Alessandro Plizzari.*

Milan go into the new season with a new Coach in Giampaolo, considered as a modern choice for his work with Sampdoria, while Reina will once more play as understudy to Donnarumma and possibly Plizzari.

“We have to get used to his ideas, but he comes across as an excellent Coach who is clear on what he wants,” the goalkeeper told Milan TV.

“The identity of the team will be very clear.

A great dressing room is needed, with the right mindset.
*“Egos mustn’t stand in front of the team. Our project starts from that.*

The dressing room must be united and we all must help each other, honouring the shirt.

“We need the right hunger to continue to grow and fight for important objectives.

We need to improve each year.

“We immediately welcomed the new arrivals. We’re here to help them with anything.

Theo is a very good player, with a lot of potential.

“He’s young and he still has to grow, but he’ll give us a great hand. Donnarumma and Plizzarri still have many years ahead of them.

They’re only 20 years old, so the future of Milan isn’t in any doubt.

“We need to put fuel in our legs and adapt as soon as possible to the Coach’s system.

More than results, we need to focus on performance.

“We want to improve on last season and go to the Champions League.”
