Read this Sir.Bring your alternative.
With this flawed attribute of GDP, why on earth are we cheating ourselves! I am not the economist, but I pose to you/economic experts a constrative provocation while aiming to revitalize your critical thinking about the reality. In poor countries, the informal sector is practically invisible to GDP. Yet in much of the world, the informal economy counts for most. Monitoring economic activity from space, through satellite images of nightlights, might be more accurate than on-the-ground GDP, academic studies have found.
I wonder, why some of our local economists are not interested in seeking the alternative index, which reflects real economy of our country in this modern times! Instead, they (those some), are pressuring a "bush economist", to give them an alternative of the flawed GDP index!!
