7. African Eagle partners with MDN Northern Mining on Msasa gold project, Tanzania
African Eagle Resources PLC said it has signed an option agreement with MDN Northern Mining over the Msasa Gold Project in Tanzania. Under the option, MDN will invest an inital 200,000 usd in exploration, and subject to successful results, can then earn a 51 pct interest in the project by investing a further 1.7 mln usd by January 2010.
African Eagle said MDN can raise its interest to 65 pct by financing a feasibility study with respect to the property.

8:Shanta Gold intersects high-grade mineralization at Singida project in Tanzania
LONDON (AFX) - AIM-listed Shanta Gold Ltd said it intersected high-grade mineralization at its 100-pct owned Singida Project in Tanzania.
All of these mineralized intersections occur from surface to 30 metres depth.
"This is a highly encouraging start to the drilling program at Singida," said chief executive Chris Picken.
A second phase drilling program recently started.

Albidon confirms platinum find in Tanzania
LONDON (AFX) - Albidon Limited confirmed a platinum find in Tanzania on the Luwumbu Project. Drillhole NDH018, in the Nkenja East area at Luwumbu intersected a broad zone of Platinum Group Metal mineralisation approximately 50m up-dip from the high grade intersection from the NDH014 discovery reported on Jan 11 2006.
Drilling is continuing, the company said.
Albidon owns a 10 pct interest in the Luwumbu Project, in which Goldstream Mining NL, in joint venture with Lonmin plc, is exploring for Platinum Group Metal (PGM) mineralisation at Luwumbu in southwest Tanzania.

Tanzania might become a ship building nation in future following the discovery of large quantities of Niobium, a salt resistant mineral at Panda Hill in Mbeya region.
The Southern Highlands Mining Officer, Alex Magayane told this paper in Mbeya last week that prospecting and environmental impact assessment had already been done by two companies, adding that mining would start any time.
12: SA WINS OIL EPPLORATION DEAL
THE government has signed an 11-year contract with a South African company OPHIR Energy for exploration of oil in southern Tanzania.
The contract was signed yesterday in Dar es Salaam between the Minister for Energy and Minerals, Dr Ibrahim Msabaha, and the Chairman of OPHIR Energy, Mr Tokyo Sexwale.
According to the contract, the company will undertake oil exploration at block three and four involving about 10,595 square kilometres and 10,006 of seashore and land, respectively.
The agreement requires OPHIR Energy to pay the government 4 US dollars (about 4,000/-) per square kilometre per annum for the first four years followed by 8 US dollars (about 8,000/-) for the next four years and then 16 US dollars (about 16,000/-) for the last 3 years.
