Great thinkers wengi mawazo yetu yako kwenye siasa hatujiuliza maswali kama haya.

Nimejaribu ku google na kwa kuwa mfumo wetu wa utawala na sheria unafuata wakoloni wetu Waingereza nadhani resposibility haziko mbali na hizi

Member of Parliament

When Parliament is sitting (meeting), MPs generally spend their time working in the House of Commons(The parliament in our case). This can include raising issues affecting their constituents, attending debates and voting on new laws. Most MPs are also members of committees, which look at issues in detail, from government policy and new laws, to wider topics like UFISADI.
Working in their constituency

In their constituency, MPs often hold a 'surgery' in their office, where local people can come along to discuss any matters that concern them. MPs also attend functions, visit schools and businesses and generally try to meet as many people as possible. This gives MPs further insight and context into issues they may discuss when they return to Westminster.( Dodoma in our case)

Website yetu ya tanzania inasema kazi ya bunge haileze kazi ya mbunge

In view of that parliament can assumes the following roles:

  • To pass laws for the good governance.
  • To provide, by giving legislative sanction to taxation and acquisition
of means to carrying out the work of the government.
  • To scrutinize government policy and administration, including
proposal for expenditure; and to debate major issues of the day.

Councillor( Madiwani)
What does the role of Councillor involve?
Councillors usually represent a political party, but can also be independent( for tanzania the must be ofspecific party). If they are a member of a political party, their priorities while in office are influenced by the priorities of the party. All councillors act as:

  • Representatives of individuals and groups within their ward. They act as a source of information or point of access to other agencies, often through regular surgeries which they hold in public places such as schools or libraries.
  • Community leaders, building relationships with key individuals or groups. Since July 2004, this process has been managed through meetings of the ten Area Committees in Leeds.
  • Policy makers, attending and/or chairing council meetings on issues such as housing, social services, schools, planning and the environment. These meetings involve debating and approving proposals, as well as decision-making.
