Work stations for two positions:
  1. Head of Sports – Smith Campus, Smith Secondary School, Usa River, Arusha
  2. Head of Sports – Sisia Campus, Girls Secondary school, Moshono, Arusha

Who are you
  • A highly-motivated teacher with excellent attention to detail, who loves working with students and can facilitate a holistic learning curriculum.
  • You understand the importance of sports and extracurricular activities and can inspire and mentor students to participate.
  • A responsible and hard-working person who enjoys coaching students to represent themselves and the school in competitions and tournaments.
  • You strive for academic and moral excellence and encourage students to aim high and achieve.

What you’ll do
  • Develop and deliver lesson plans, schemes of work, lesson notes and examinations for physical education.
  • Oversee the delivery of the St Jude’s Holistic Sports Program.
  • Work closely with the Sports Team – Assistant Team Lead to develop a positive sport culture
  • Coordinate internal and external fixtures and competitions for students in a range of sports.
  • Incorporate the school values of respect, kindness, responsibility, and honesty into all sports activities and interactions in and out of the organisation.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Sports-Assistant Team Lead, Head of Department, Manager and Senior Managers.

What we’re looking for
  • A Degree of Education in Sports (Physical Education) from an accredited University in Tanzania.
  • Three to four years of experience in teaching sports in secondary education with great accomplishments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English as a medium of instruction.
  • A well-rounded, independent and mature individual with a diverse knowledge in Education and one that observes teaching ethics and demonstrates a refreshing approach to teaching
  • A teacher with a vibrant, diligent and motivating personality for our students.
  • An individual who is able to adapt to our school’s diverse Policies and Procedures (including working over the weekends when required).
  • Experience with running tournaments/sports events and participating in Regional and National Level Sports Competitions such as UMISSETA and FEASSA.
  • Competent female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
