SGR passenger trains are fully booked ahead of Monday's Idd celebrations, the management said on Wednesday.
All seats on the train heading to Mombasa and the one from the Coastal town to Nairobi are booked until Friday.
"Madaraka Express is fully booked with the continued offer of Sh700 for economy class and Sh3,000 for first class," the team said.
"The train is fully booked today, Thursday and Friday (Nairobi to Mombasa). From Mombasa, the train is fully booked on Thursday and Friday."
On Tuesday, Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery issued a gazette notice that declared Monday a public holiday to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadhan.
The Kenya Railways has also announced that it has reached an agreement with Safaricom to allow commuters to buy their tickets through MPesa.
Commuters will buy their tickets through mobile money and collect their tickets at the specific terminal.
Currently, one has to go physically to the Mombasa or Nairobi station to buy the tickets with the management advising that people book three days in advance.
On future plans, Kenya Railways is working on an online portal where commuters can book, pay and print their tickets.
The SGR train was launched on May 31 by President Uhuru Kenyatta, DP William Ruto and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta at the Mombasa's Miritini terminus.
Among those who attended the colourful ceremony were senior Kenyan government officials and several from China Communications Construction Company and Exim Bank.
