GUINEA WANTS TANZANIA OUT OF #AFCON2025
Guinea has asked African football governing body, CAF to nullify Tanzania's #AFCON2025 qualification due irregularities cited in a report submitted by the West Africans.
In a game played at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium on Tuesday, Guinea says Tanzania brought on a substitute player with jersey number 26 whereas the Matchday team sheet had no number 26 attached to any player.
The visitors also allege that their hosts changed the kick-off time to the afternoon which acted in their favor but affected
the performance of Guinea players especially those who ply their trade in Europe.
Guinea also finds it unfair that CAF appointed match commissioner and security officer all from Kenya — who are also part of CECAFA zone.
Having provided all evidence, they now want CAF to award them the 3 points and 3 goals.
If CAF heeds to their plea, Tanzania who won by 1-0 to secure a place in Morocco,will be thrown out and Guinea who fell short of qualifying by a point, will replace the Cecafa nation.
CAF is yet to issue any official statement as far as the petition is concerned.
