How to calculate the quantities of ingredients of concrete(i.e cement,sand and aggregate) of known grade
e.g grade c 20 (1:2:4) ,for 1cubic.m of concrete.

SOLUTION
1.the total volume of cement is 1cubic.m
so yield of concrete proportional(1:2:4)
=2/3(1+2(1)+4(1))
=4.667cubic m
2.by absolute volumes
here we have to assume the following(sababu swali lako halijakamilika)
cement:sp.gr.3.15 an wt in each bag 0.50kN
sand;sp.gr.2.65 and unit wt 15kN/cubic m(this is when dry)
coarse aggregate;sp;gr.2.80 and unit wt 15kN/cubic m
water cement ratio:0.60
unit wt of water 10KN/cubic m

volume of cement=0.50/3.15*10=
volume of sand=2*1*16/2.65*10=
aggregate=4*1*15/2.80*10=

kijana una concept ila hapo kwenye solution 1 hauko sahihi.Huwezi sema volume of cement ni 1cubic.m kwa sababu kama unafikiri imetoka kwenye 1:2:4 umekosea kwa sababu 1:2:4 haimaniishi volume of ingredients bali inamaanisha 1part of cement ,2part of sand and 4part of aggregate na inaweza ikawa ina represent volumetric relation or weight relation depending on the mix design,code,material etc

But thank u for your contributions and mix design is required in order to determine the qty of these ingredients in which there are so many factors,steps to be considered.
