Eto'o in Cameroon quit threat

Cameroon captain Samuel Eto'o has hit back at criticism from the country's striking legend Roger Milla, adding that his participation in the World Cup could now be in doubt.

Milla claimed earlier this week that Eto'o had "brought lots to Barcelona and Inter Milan but never anything to the Cameroon team", but Eto'o - who won the Champions League with Inter to add to his two triumphs with Barca in 2006 and 2009 - dubbed Milla "bitter".

"People should respect me and they must shut up, really shut up, because playing in the World Cup quarter-finals is not the same as winning the World Cup,'' he told Canal Plus. "It is always before tournaments that bitter people wake up. What has he [Milla] done? He hasn't won the World Cup... And then you wonder, 'are they my people?'. Are they really my people?''

Eto'o then made the stunning claim that he may not play for his country again and raised questions over whether he would make the trip to South Africa this summer.

"Is it worth me going to the World Cup?" he asked on the sidelines of an exhibition match in Paris. "I've still got some days to think about it but I'll see if my taking part is important because I don't need this in my career."

With four goals in five games at the age of 38 in Italia '90, Milla led Cameroon to the quarter-finals [the first African side to get that far] and is seen as the best African striker of his generation.

is uncalled for in all fairness to both players.

mkuu si unajua mambo ya mastaa wawili lazima mmoja anataka kuonekana zaidi ndio matokeo yake.Eto'o kajibu hili kuonesha kiburi cha ustaa wake na Milla nae katumia ustaa wake kumponda Eto'o.

Mentality kama hii ya kwako ndio inatufanya Afrika tubaki nyuma, maana kila matatizo yetu tunasingizia wazungu kwamba ndio source. It's high time we accept our faults and try to do something about them, instead of keep blaming the colonization for everything!!
