Hiyo ni comparison ya black hole na solar system nadhani umeelewa tunaongelea kitu gani. Neil Degrasse Tyson anayaita "cosmos beasts" yanakula kila kitu.

In relativity, the fourth dimension is time.

Katika maisha ya kawida ili ujue kitu kipo wapi lazima uwe na coordinates, X, Y and Z (forward/backward, left/Right and Down/Up).

Sasa kwa concept hiyo nikikuelekeza uje hapa nilipo. Nitakwambia nyosha kutoka hapa ulipo kwa km 10 (X-coordinate), then kati kulia tembea km 20(Y-coordinate) ukifika hapo utaona ghorofa panda juu floor ya saba (Z-Coordinate).

Ukija nakuhakikishia hutanikuta kabisa maana sijakwambia coordinate/dimension moja ya msingi ambayo ni time kwamba mda gani nitakuwa hapo.

So if time ni coordinates/dimension ili kukamilisha directions i will tell you where and when I will be. 5km forward,(X) 10km right(Y) and 4 floors up,(Z) at 12:00am yesterday (time).

But many different observers (possibly moving observers) wanaweza observe the object at different coordinates from one another. Some may even observe the object moving. This doesn't matter however: if we know how each observer is moving, we can go from one set of coordinates to another, through what is known as a linear transformation.

But time is different. Suppose we watch a ball move erratically between two points A and B. Many different observers will give you many different accounts of the ball's coordinates. Some observers may not even see the ball change coordinates at all, if their motion happens to match the ball's. But one thing they can all agree on is the time taken for the ball to move from A to B. Time in this sense is fixed and agreed upon by everyone.

Relativity proposes however that different observers fail to agree even on the time taken. Before, they didn't agree in the space coordinates, but it didn't really matter: these three dimensions can be easily transformed from one observer to another. Now, they don't agree on space coordinates AND time, but special relativity saves the day and shows us how to transform from one set of coordinates and time to another, using a linear transformation once again.

Time has therefore been reduced to an entity that is really much like the three spatial coordinates, and that is why it is rightly regarded as a fourth dimension.

Spce-time should never be confused with time, there is space, time and spacetime. But as long as time is wrapped into space curvature in spacetime affects the fourth dimension.
