Kwai kaenda kuwatetea wateja wake tangu jana anawatetea.
Huu hapa ni ujumbe katuma
"Tell members that there are police officers in plain clothes who've been sent to arrest me in the Dodoma Resident Magistrates Court where I'm representing clients in a court hearing since yesterday. Tell them I'm not going to go out of the courtroom. If I've to be arrested then it will be inside the courtroom. Send this to all our networks in and out of the country.."
My Take:
Utakaa ndani lakini mwisho wa siku utatoka. Hata Sadam Hussein alijichimbia lakini alitoka. Au tutakurushia bomu la machozi. Ukitoka unadakwa.

UPDATE 1
Tundu Lissu:
Dear members.
Greetings from your President wherever you may be.
I'm in Dodoma since Monday night. I've been representing schoolteachers in a dispute with their trade union body since yesterday.
Early today before coming to the Dodoma Resident Magistrates' Court for the case, I was called by my wife in Dar to be informed that about six police officers in plainclothes were in my residence looking to arrest me for my criticism of President Magufuli's policies two days ago.
After they're informed of my absence, they must have communicated with Dodoma for, while in Court about an hour ago, I was informed that there were police officers waiting for me outside the courtroom.
They'll pounce on me the moment I step outside the courtroom.
I'll most likely be transported to Dar again. It's almost certain I'll be incarcerated in police jails as it's happened so often this past one year or so.
I'm undaunted and remain steadfast. I'll not be silenced by the Tyrant. No jail or police dungeon will shut me up.
It's a question of principle: we're either a Democracy in which free speech and political freedoms are respected; in which even the most vehement criticism of the President is tolerated, if not encouraged.
Or we're a Dictatorship, in which there's no freedom and whatever the Big Man says is unchallenged.
I've chosen Democracy over Dictatorship. I'm prepared to pay the price for my choice. I ask you all to make the choice as well.
Since they've chosen to follow me in court while I'm doing my duty as an officer of the court, I've decided I'll remain inside the courtroom.
If they've to arrest me, then it'll have to be inside the courtroom. The world will have to know what Tanzania ya Magufuli really is: a Dictatorship.
I ask you all to mobilize. Do what you can to get the word out. Tell the world what's happening. Tell our sister societies in East Africa, in SADC and in PALU as well as IBA about this.
Only mobilization and resistance on this scale will secure our rights as lawyers. Only mobilization will prevent the Tyrant from legislating TLS out of existence, as he has openly declared.
I wish you all the best.
Tundu Lissu
President.

UPDATE 2:
UPDATE: 3
Tundu Lissu:
Dear members.
Sorry to disturb y'all again. I'm relieved to have to inform you that I'm free, for now at least.
A short while ago the Regional Police Commander for Dodoma came into the courtroom to personally inform me that he's under no instructions to have me arrested.
He asked me, politely I must confess, to leave the courtroom and no one will molest me. He said it in front of the cameras, as members of the press were present in good number.
I've decided to give him the benefit of my doubts. I'll be driving back to Dar tomorrow morning, to be able to catch an evening flight to Kigali, to attend EALS Governing Council meeting slated for Friday and Saturday.
We can, for now at least, breath an easier sigh of relief.
I thank you for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers.
Tundu Lissu
President
