“There shall be one state and you are the President. In forming this Union, there shall be one country and you are the President”.
This is what the Late Abeid Amani Karume is depicted by Makwaia wa Kuhenga to have told Mwalimu Nyerere in the wake of the establishment of the Union between Tanganyika and Zanzibar. In other words, Karume is said to have uttered those words according to Mwalimu Nyerere.
I have heard this quotation repeatedly time and time again in the past several years. But, there is no concrete evidence to substantiate that those very words were truly said by Karume at any time during his life time, i.e. before or after the Union’s inception. Not a single Zanzibari politician or journalist that I know of has ever corroborated Mwalimu’s now infamous quote. As a matter of fact, even Nyerere himself is believed to have ‘quoted’ Karume many years after his death; which means Nyerere himself had neither the courage nor the audacity to make that quotation at any given time during Karume’s life time. Why? Because there is a strong probability that Karume has never uttered those words to Nyerere in the first place.
On the contrary, there is strong evidence to suggest that Nyerere had only fabricated this lie or, to be more polite, misstatement, in order to portray Karume as a staunch Pan-Africanist and a strong supporter and an avid architect of the Union for the sole purpose of allaying any damaging perception that the Union that had been consummated in an unprecedented haste and without any prior consultations with members of the public from both constituent countries was nothing more than a surgical implementation of Nyerere’s long-standing political desire to annex Zanzibar into the Mainland territory as part and parcel of Tanganyika.
In other words, the Union between Tanganyika and Zanzibar was not established for the purpose and objective of implementing the noble ideals in support of Pan-Africanism. Rather, it was mainly established for the purpose of political expediency as exemplified by the political desires of both the so-called architects of the Union; because there is strong evidence to suggest that both Nyerere and Karume were not the kind of leaders who believed in and strongly supported the noble ideals of Pan-Africanism in the first place.
For instance, a strong believer in the ideals of Pan-Africanism, as Nyerere would have wished to make us believe, would not be at the forefront in spearheading a strong opposition against Ghanaian President Kwame Nkurmah’s famous idea for the establishment of a unitary Government for Africa during the first OAU summit conference that took place in Cairo in 1963. Importantly, a strong believer of Pan-Africanism would neither have supported the secession of Biafra from the Federal Republic of Nigeria, nor would he largely and deliberately have contributed to the demise of the East African Community in 1977 by merely refusing, for whatever reason, to sit on the same table with one of the three co-chairs of the East African Authority, a body that had the mandate of considering and approving the EAC budget, and hence the Community’s eventual collapse.
In retrospect, Nyerere’s insatiable quest to unite with Zanzibar was uniquely attributed to the fact that he wanted to annex Zanzibar so badly so that Tanganyika could be in a position to oversee the largely Muslim-inhabited independent state located just few miles away from its shores so that its considerable political and social influence over a good segment of Coastal and Mainland Muslim Tanganyikans could be effectively and permanently contained. Nyerere’s infamous statement to the effect that if he had his way he would keep Zanzibar as far away as possible from the shores of Tanganyika is a vivid testimony of Nyerere’s imagined fear of Zanzibar’s considerable political and social influence over Tanganyika.
That is why it was Nyerere (and not Karume) who travelled to Zanzibar to meet with Karume for the purpose of initiating and proposing the establishment of the Union between Tanganyika and Zanzibar. It was also Nyerere who had proposed the idea of merging TANU and ASP to Aboud Jumbe, the-then President of Zanzibar in 1977. And it was the very Nyerere who dumped Aboud Jumbe when he figured out that the stubborn Zanzibari politician had outlived his usefulness when he exhibited the audacity to vigorously question the supremacy of the party and called for the establishment of the three-tier system of Government for Tanzania.
Consequently, with the successful establishment of the Union and the merger of the two political parties into a much more robust and centralized political animal – CCM, Nyerere managed to seal the deal in achieving his long-standing goal of annexing Zanzibar into the so-called Union-fold. And, anyone who dared to question the Union was quickly and mercilessly labeled as an anti-Union element and a traitor who committed an act of treason.
On the other hand, Karume, too, was not a true believer of the ideals of Pan-Africanism as Makwaia wa Kuhenga would have wished to make us believe. As far as he was concerned, Karume was inclined to accept the idea of the Union between Tanganyika and Zanzibar for the sole purpose over the need to consolidating his political power and authority over Zanzibar after the 1964 revolution. It should be recalled here that after the revolution, Zanzibar did not have an army of its own. Karume, therefore, needed time to form one that would ensure Zanzibar’s continued political stability. Nyerere’s idea of establishing the Union between the two countries and his offer of 300 soldiers from Tanganyikan Police Force to help in the provision of Zanzibar’s security was, therefore, timely and a blessing in disguise in the eyes of politically masterful and erstwhile Karume.
Consequently, Karume viewed the Union between the two countries as a provisional political strategy that should be cautiously sustained until such point in time when Zanzibar’s security had been totally secured. He ordered his huge military arsenal, i.e. tanks, trucks, rockets and coast guard boats from the-then Communist Soviet Union and East Germany respectively. He categorically refused to deposit Zanzibar’s moneys into the Bank of Tanzania’s coffers. Instead, he established the People’s Bank of Zanzibar (PBZ) uniquely for the purpose of keeping Zanzibar Government’s moneys, both local and foreign deposits, in Zanzibar’s safe hands. In fact, just few weeks before his assassination, some concrete arrangements, at Karume’s direct urging, were already being undertaken by the Revolutionary Government towards the printing and subsequent issuance of Zanzibar’s own currency.
As if this was not enough, Karume made it quite clear that Nyerere’s famous Arusha Declaration did not concern or rule over Zanzibar. He strongly opposed any possible military intervention against Idi Amin’s Uganda and subsequently vowed that he would not allow Zanzibari soldiers to fight and die in a war that Zanzibar had nothing to do with. More significantly, he went on record to declaring that the Union was just like a leather jacket. In other words, whenever one feels hot, he can simply and freely take the jacket off.
As we celebrate the 45th Anniversary of the Union between Tanganyika and Zanzibar, if anything, the likes of Makwaia wa Kuhenga may wish to seriously ponder on these widely substantiated facts before embarking on a relentless campaign of trying to depict scenarios that are less reflective of what had truly transpired or motivated the founders of the Union to do what they have subsequently done in terms of satisfying their own political desires rather than implementing the noble causes and ideals of Pan-Africanism. The Makwaias should also be reminded of the fact that this is 21st Century; and long gone are the old political vagaries and expediencies of the 1960s that hardly have any bearing in shaping the thinking of today’s generation of highly educated and independent-minded Zanzibari intellectuals in the present-day Tanzania.

Wakati leo Watanzania wanaadhimisha miaka 45 ya Muungano, Kiongozi Mwandamizi katika Ofisi ya Waziri Kiongozi, Enzi Talib Aboud ameshauri serikali ya Tanganyika irudishwe ili iweze kusimamia mambo yasiyokuwemo katika orodha ya mambo ya Muungano kwa upande wa Tanzania Bara.
Alitoa tamko hilo alipokuwa akiwasilisha mada kuhusu Zanzibar katika Muungano kwenye kongamano la kitaifa lililofanyika jana mjini hapa.
Akiwasilisha mada hiyo kwa Niaba ya Enzi, mwanasheria maarufu Zanzibar, Ali Omar alisema Serikali ya Tanganyika ina umuhimu wa kurudishwa kwa vile itapata nafasi ya kusimamia mambo yasiyokuwa ya muungano kwa upande wa Tanzania Bara kama ilivyo hivi sasa kwa upande wa Zanzibar.
Aidha alisema wakati umefika Baraza la Wawakilishi Zanzibar lipewe nafasi ya kuridhia mkataba wa Muungano uliofikiwa Aprili 26, 1964 baina ya hayati Baba wa Ttaifa Mwalimu Nyerere na hayati Sheikh Abeid Amani Karume.
Alisema baada ya kufikiwa kwa Muungano mwaka 1964, Baraza la Kutunga Sheria la Zanzibar ambalo lilikuwa ni Baraza la Mapinduzi halikupewa nafasi ya kuridhia Muungano huo.
"Lazima Baraza la kutunga sheria la Zanzibar kwa sasa ambalo ni Baraza la Wawakilishi lipewe nafasi ya kuridhia mkataba huo ili kuupa uhalali wa kisheria kwa upande wa Zanzibar," alisema Enzi katika mada yake iliyowasilishwa na mwanasheria Ali Omar.
Alisema katika kutatua kero za Muungano mkataba wa Muungano upitiwe upya na kurekebishwa maeneo ambayo yalikuwa na utatanishi baina ya pande mbili za Muungano.
Enzi ambaye ni mwandishi wa habari mkongwe nchini alisema, ili kuondosha mivutano ndani ya Muungano, Zanzibar inapaswa kuruhusiwa kunufaika na misaada ya kibajeti ya moja kwa moja na iwe na utambulisho wake wa kidola na utambulisho wake katika duru za kimataifa ili iweze kujimudu kiuchumi na kufanikisha mpango wa kuondoa umasikini kwa wananchi wake.
" Zanzibar ipate haki zake zote za misaada, utambulisho wake wa kidola na uwakilishi wake katika duru za kimataifa," alisema.
Alisema orodha ya mambo ya Muungano hivi sasa inaongezeka kutoka mambo 11 yaliyomo katika orodha ya awali ya Muungano hadi 38 na kusababisha kutoka pande mbili za Muungano kwa vile baadhi ya maeneo yaliyoongezeka yamekuwa kikwazo katika nyanja za kiuchumi.
"Muundo wa serikali mbili umepelekea wengi kuamini kwamba kilichofanyika ni kiini macho tu kwani ni Zanzibar iliyokabidhi sehemu muhimu ya mamlaka yake mahusiano ya nchi za nje, ulinzi na usalama, uraia, kodi na sarafu kwa Tanganyika na kisha Tanganyika ikajigeuza jina na kujiita Jamhuri ya Muungano," alihoji Enzi katika mada yake.
Hata hivyo, alisema hakuna awezae kubisha kuwa Muungano tangu kuasisiwa kwake umejengeka kutokana na misingi ya hofu, kutiliana shaka na kutoaminiana baina ya pande mbili za Muungano huo.
Wakichangia mada hiyo wanafunzi kutoka vyuo vikuu mbali mbali vya Zanzibar na viongozi kutoka vyama vya CUF, CCM, NCCR-Mageuzi, UPDP pamoja na watafiti akiwemo Profesa Abdul Sharrif ambao walishauri kero za Muungano zitafutiwe ufumbuzi kwa muda muafaka.
Mwenyekiti wa bodi ya wadhamini UPDP, Haji Othman Haji alisema kasoro kubwa iliyofanyika katika muungano ni kufikiwa kwa Muungano wenyewe kabla ya kushirikishwa wananchi wa pande mbili za Muungano.
Hata hivyo alisema matatizo ya muungano yataondoka kwa kujadiliwa kwa uwazi na kuwepo kwa nia njema ili kuhakikisha umoja wa kitaifa kuendelea kudumishwa chini ya mfumo wa muungano.
Hata hivyo Ali Mohammed Said alisema wakati umefika kuungalia muungano wenyewe kabla ya kuangalia kero za muungano kwa kile alichodai kuwa Muungnao umechangi kwa kiwango kikubwa kuathiri sekta ya uchumi visiwani.
Naye Profesa Abdul Sharrif ambaye ni mtaalamu wa mambo ya historia alisema hivi sasa wananchi wamegawanyika makundi mawili wapo wanaosema Muungano uvunjwe na uundwe upya na wengine wakiamini ipo nafasi ya kutatua kasoro za Muungano kwa lengo la kuimarisha umoja wa kitaifa.

Nyerere never ever killed no one, his policies never torched no one, Zanzibars attended schools, get jobs, married, have wealth they were free to either live in the Mainland and own Land, During Nyerere's rule Mainlanders were supposed to have a passport even just to visit Zanzibar forget about owning Land.

WAKATI Watanzania leo wanaungana nchini kote kuadhimisha miaka 45 ya Muungano kati ya Tanganyika na Zanzibar, kero mbalimbali zinazoukabili sasa ni wazi zinatishia kuusambaratisha.
Hali hii inatokana na watu wengi katika pande mbili za Muungano kushindwa kukubaliana na muundo wake pamoja na kuwapo kero nyingi ambazo hazijapatiwa ufumbuzi.
Baadhi ya watu nchini wamedai kuwa kero za Muungano zimekuwa zikiusukasuka kwa muda mrefu sasa kutokana na serikali na Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), kupata kigugumizi cha kufanya mjadala wa kitaifa kutafuta suluhu ya kero hizo.
Wakizungumza katika kipindi cha Kipimajoto kinachorushwa na ITV juzi usiku, Naibu Katibu Mkuu wa Chama cha Wananchi (CUF) Zanzibar, Juma Duni Haji, alisema bila ya kuwa na serikali tatu kero za Muungano zitaendelea kudumu.
“Serikali ya Zanzibar ni ya watu na kila penye watu pana ardhi na pia ukisikia kuwa kuna harusi unategemea kumkuta mwanamke na mwanamume ukiwakuta wanaume watupu utashtuka,” alisema Duni.
“Shughuli za serikali ni tatu (jurisdiction) kuna Muungano, Zanzibar na Tanzania Bara, hivyo kila shughuli hapa inahitaji serikali na hapo tutamaliza kero za Muungano kama walivyo wenzetu wa Uingereza.”
Alisema, Mkataba wa Muungano ni wa kimataifa na kama hivyo ndivyo, hauwezi kuingiliwa na upande mmoja tu na kufanyiwa mabadiliko bila ya makubaliano ya walioungana.
Naye Katibu Mkuu wa NCCR-Mageuzi Samuel Ruhuza alisema, serikali zinajaribu kupotosha historia kwa kuwa wanaitangaza tarehe tisa ya Uhuru wa Tanganyika kuwa ni ya Uhuru wa Tanzania na wanafunzi wanafundishwa hivyo shuleni, jambo ambalo si kweli.
Aidha, alifafanua kuwa wanaiacha Desemba 12 ya Uhuru wa Zanzibar na kusherehekea siku ya Mapinduzi ya Zanzibar na watu hawajui siku ya Uhuru wa Zanzibar.
“Tunapotosha na kufuta historia yetu, hali hii ni mbaya sana,” alisema Ruhuza na kuongeza:
“Zanzibar ina rais ambaye hana dola na hawezi kupinduliwa kwa sababu huwezi kumkamata mtu na kumshtaki kuwa ni haini anataka kupindua Zanzibar, ni kichekesho”.
Ruhuza alikiri kuwepo kwa kero za Muungano na kuthibitisha kuwa serikali tatu ndio suluhu ya kudumu ya kero hizo.
Kwa upande wake, Kaimu Katibu Mkuu wa Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (Chadema), Victor Kimesera alisisitiza kuwa makubaliano ya msingi ya Muungano yamekorogwa na kuingiliwa bila ya makubaliano ya pande mbili husika.
Alisema hiyo ndio sababu moja ya kutofikiwa kwa malengo ya Muungano kwa kuwa upande mmoja uliingia na kuongeza mambo ya Muungano bila ya makubaliano.
“Mambo ya msingi ya Muungano yalikuwa 11 tu, lakini sasa yameongezwa na kufikia 24 haya ndiyo yanayoleta mijadala na migogoro isiyokwisha,” alisema Kimesera.
Kwa upande wake, Mhadhiri Mwandamizi wa Chuo Kikuu cha Dar es Salaam, Dk Azaveli Lwaitama alisema, Muungano ulisababishwa na sababu za kiusalama na amani.
“Mzee Abeid Karume alikubali kuungana kwa sababu alikuwa anahitaji amani na usalama kutokana na hofu aliyokuwa nayo ya kuvamiwa na mataifa ya Magharibi; na huku Mwalimu Nyerere alikuwa na hofu ya kuathirika iwapo Zanzibar ingevamiwa. Si unajua machafuko yakiwa Zanzibar na Bara pia yana gharama zake,” alisema Lwaitama na kuongeza:
“Tatizo la Muungano sio jina, jina si chochote. Tatizo linakuzwa kwa utashi wa wanasiasa tu, na ardhi ya Zanzibar kwa sababu ni ndogo ndio maana kukawa na vikwazo kwa watu wa Bara kumiliki, lakini kwetu sisi ardhi ni kubwa hata wakija Wazanzibari wote hawawezi kuimaliza.”
“Mwalimu alikubali hayo ili Wazanzibari wasijione kama vile wamemezwa na ndio maana hata serikali, bendera na wimbo wa taifa wanavyo. Ukimwona mtu wa bara anapigia kelele hilo huyo ni mangi wa Tanganyika.”
Lwaitama alipingana na kauli ya wanasiasa kuwa serikali tatu ndio suluhu ya kudumu ya matatizo ya Muungano, na kupendekeza kuwa serikali moja ndio suluhu na kwamba nchi haiwezi kutoka katika serikali mbili ikaenda kwenye serikali tatu ni kichekesho.
“Hata Mwalimu alisema, tukitoka serikali mbili ni kwenda serikali moja na sio tatu. Tukitoka mbili na kwenda tatu badala ya moja ni kioja na kichekesho kikubwa,” alisema Lwaitama.
Naye Kiongozi Mwandamizi kutoka Ofisi ya Waziri Kiongozi Zanzibar, Enzi Talib Aboud alisema wakati umefika serikali ya Tanganyika ikarejeshwa.
Aboud alisema hayo jana wakati akijadili mada yake iliyowasilishwa katika kongamano la kitaifa kwa niaba yake na Mwanasheria, Ali Omar ambalo liliwashirikisha wanafunzi kutoka vyuo vikuu vya Zanzibar, viongozi mashuhuri, wasomi na viongozi wa vyama vya siasa.
Aboud alisema serikali ya Tanganyika irejeshwe ili iweze kusimamia mambo ambayo hayamo katika orodha ya Muungano kwa upande wa Tanzania Bara ili mfumo unaotumika Zanzibar utumike na Bara.
Alisema tangu kuundwa kwa Muungano SMZ, imekuwa na katiba na serikali yake ambayo inasimamia mambo ya ndani ya Zanzibar ambayo hayamo katika orodha ya mambo ya Muungano.
Alisema kwamba, uchumi wa Zanzibar umekuwa ukififia kutokana na vikwazo mbalimbali vilivyomo katika mfumo wa Muungano na kushauri Zanzibar ipate haki zake zote za misaada, utambulisho wake wa kidola na uwakilishi wake katika jumuiya za kimataifa ili iweze kukuza uchumi na kuinua kipato cha wananchi wake.
Aboud ambaye ni mwadhishi wa habari mkongwe aliyewahi kufanya kazi katika vyombo vya habari kadhaa ya Tanzania Bara na kukamata nafasi za juu za serikali ya Zanzibar, alisema kwamba wakati umefika mkataba wa awali wa Muungano ukapelekwa katika Baraza la Wawakilishi ili wajumbe wapate nafasi ya kuridhia mkataba huo.
Alisema mkataba huo wa Muungano baada ya kufikiwa mwaka 1964 uliridhiwa na upande mmoja wa Muungano, lakini baraza la kutunga sheria wakati huo Zanzibar (Baraza la Mapinduzi) halikupewa nafasi ya kuridhia mkataba uliosainiwa na Mwalimu Julius Nyerere na Mzee Sheikh Abeid Amani Karume.
Kongamano hilo limefuatia kuzuiwa kwa maandamano ya kuunga mkono suala la mafuta na gesi asilia kuondolewa katika orodha ya mambo ya Muungano kama ilivyopendekezwa na wajumbe wa Baraza la Wawakilishi Zanzibar.
Juzi Mkuu wa Polisi wilaya ya Mjini, Mkadam Khamis Mkadam, alisema suala la mafuta na gesi asilia ni suala la kikatiba na linapaswa kujadiliwa na mabaraza ya kutunga sheria na sio jumuiya au taasisi nyingine, hivyo jeshi la polisi haliwezi kuruhusu kufanyika kwa maandamano hayo.
Mwenyekiti wa Bodi ya Wadhamini wa Chama cha UPDP, Haji Othman Haji, alisema kwamba Muungano ulifikiwa kwa maamuzi ya Nyerere na Karume, lakini wananchi hawakupewa muda wa kutosha wa kufikiria na kuamua katika suala hilo.
Naye Profesa Abdul Sharif ambaye ni mtafiti wa mambo ya historia alisema wananchi katika taifa wamegawanyika kutokana na mitazamo tofauti kuhusu Muungano wakiwapo wanaofikiria uvunjwe na uundwe upya ili kwa kuzingatia masilahi ya kiuchumi badala ya kisiasa pekee.
Kwa upande wake Ali Mohammed Said alisema wananchi wajadili uhalali wa Muungano wenyewe badala ya kujadili kero zake kwa kuwa ufumbuzi wa matatizo hayo ni kurudi kuangalia mfumo wake.
Awali, Mwenyekiti wa Jumuiya ya Maimamu Zanzibar, Ustadh Farid Hadi aliwataka wananchi wa Zanzibar kuondoa woga na kujadili kwa uwazi matatizo yanayoukabili Muungano kwa masilahi ya wananchi wake na vizazi vijavyo.

..ipo hotuba ya Karume ambapo anasema ni bora kuwa Makamu wa Raisi wa nchi kubwa kama Tanzania kuliko kuwa Raisi wa nchi ndogo Zanzibar.

wakisema serikali ya Tanganyika irejeshwe ili iweze kusimamia mambo ambayo hayamo katika orodha ya Muungano kwa upande wa Tanzania Bara ili mfumo unaotumika Zanzibar utumike na Bara.

wakisema tangu kuundwa kwa Muungano SMZ, imekuwa na katiba na serikali yake ambayo inasimamia mambo ya ndani ya Zanzibar ambayo hayamo katika orodha ya mambo ya Muungano.

wakisema kwamba, uchumi wa Zanzibar umekuwa ukififia kutokana na vikwazo mbalimbali vilivyomo katika mfumo wa Muungano na kushauri Zanzibar ipate haki zake zote za misaada, utambulisho wake wa kidola na uwakilishi wake katika jumuiya za kimataifa ili iweze kukuza uchumi na kuinua kipato cha wananchi wake.

Wakidai kwamba wakati umefika mkataba wa awali wa Muungano ukapelekwa katika Baraza la Wawakilishi ili wajumbe wapate nafasi ya kuridhia mkataba huo.Alisema mkataba huo wa Muungano baada ya kufikiwa mwaka 1964 uliridhiwa na upande mmoja wa Muungano, lakini baraza la kutunga sheria wakati huo Zanzibar (Baraza la Mapinduzi) halikupewa nafasi ya kuridhia mkataba uliosainiwa na Mwalimu Julius Nyerere na Mzee Sheikh Abeid Amani Karume.

nawe pamoja na watu wengi wengine ambao siku hizi Nyerer ndio punching bag yao ya kuishambulia..mbona hatukuwasikia enzi za uhai wake?

Ndugu yangu, Kinachoangaliwa hapa ni hoja ima Nyerere au karume wapo au hawapo. Lakini historia ndio zinatuhukumu kwa mujibu wa mazingira na utandawazi. ndio maana tunasema tena kwa kinywa kipana sana tena mchana kweupeeeeeeeeee kuwa
wakati umefika mkataba wa awali wa Muungano ukapelekwa katika Baraza la Wawakilishi ili wajumbe wapate nafasi ya kuridhia mkataba huo.Alisema mkataba huo wa Muungano baada ya kufikiwa mwaka 1964 uliridhiwa na upande mmoja wa Muungano, lakini baraza la kutunga sheria wakati huo Zanzibar (Baraza la Mapinduzi) halikupewa nafasi ya kuridhia mkataba uliosainiwa na Mwalimu Julius Nyerere na Mzee Sheikh Abeid Amani Karume.

``Mheshimiwa Spika, mapendekezo ya Rasimu ya Muswada hayakubaliki kwa sababu yanaweka mchakato wa Katiba Mpya kwenye huruma na/au fadhila ya Rais wa Zanzibar na siasa za Zanzibar kwa ujumla. Kwa mapendekezo haya, Rais wa Zanzibar asipokubaliana na jambo lolote linalohitaji ridhaa yake basi mchakato mzima utasimama au kusitishwa. Aidha, endapo katika kura ya maoni inayopendekezwa, theluthi mbili ya Wazanzibari hawatakubaliana na Katiba Mpya basi Katiba hiyo haitapitishwa hata kama inakubaliwa kwa kiasi kikubwa na wananchi wa Tanzania Bara.

Mustakbala wa taifa letu hauwezi kuwekwa tena rehani kwenye siasa za Zanzibar na kwenye matakwa ya Wazanzibari kwa kiasi hicho. Kuhusiana na jambo hili, Kambi Rasmi ya Upinzani inapendekeza kwamba Rais wa Zanzibar ahusishwe tu katika masuala ya kikatiba ambayo ni ya Muungano tu. Nje ya masuala hayo, Rais wa Zanzibar hana sababu yoyote ya kuhusishwa na mchakato wa kikatiba unaohusu mambo ya Tanzania Bara."

Aidha, wajumbe wa Tume ya Mapitio ya Katiba ambao watatoka Zanzibar wahusike tu katika mchakato wa masuala ya kikatiba ambayo ni ya Muungano tu. Vile vile, Kambi Rasmi ya Upinzani Bungeni inapendekeza wananchi wa Zanzibar washiriki katika kura ya maoni inayohusu mfumo mpya wa Muungano tu. Hii ndio kusema kwamba, kama vile ambavyo viongozi, wawakilishi na wananchi wa Tanzania Bara hawajashirikishwa katika mchakato wa kikatiba wa Zanzibar kwa sababu ulihusu mambo yasiyokuwa ya Muungano, vivyo hivyo viongozi, wawakilishi na wananchi wa Zanzibar wasishiriki katika mchakato wa kikatiba wa mambo yasiyokuwa ya kikatiba kwa upande wa Tanzania Bara.``

Jamani nasema hivi Nyerere sio Mungu kuwa yeye hawezi kukosea.
Na hata mwenyewe alilifahamu hilo pale kwa ridhaa yake aliporuhusu kuingia vyama vingi huko Tanzania. Kwani enzi zake kilikuwa chama ni kimoja tu.

Vipi umemsoma Tindu lisu lakini. Hicho ndio kila siku wa Znz wanachokitaka ili kuleta uwiano sawia na haki sawa kwa pande zote za Muungano.
