Her hands bound and stretched
Between heaven and earth
Her life almost snatched
As her skin torn, in gory
She screams and cry
In anguish she sustain excruciating pain
Her tormentor mercilessly punish her
Her skin plucked out
The pointed whips on her back
She faints!
As people watch and take sides
Others praises the oppressor
While others lament for the oppressed
But no one is left without a side
Cheerfully others dance and sing
Claiming victory against her
She falls on the ground, no one helps her!
Ravaged, broken and abandoned
She refuse mercy, she refuse pardon
For my People I will endure this
She says,
I will not be broken for I am strong
I will not bow when their sword split my being
The blood will flow as a witness
Of Injustice against the will of my people
As my body weakens, my heart remain strong
My intellect sharp, my resilience untamed
I survived the Nazis, I survived the Russians
I survived the Mugabes, as well as the Ukrainians
I am still standing, broken but not defeated
Hurt but not silenced!
I am hope defaulted
I am dream unfullfilled
I am change tasted
I am faith gained
I am love desired
I am the enemy to your regime
I am the worst to your team
I am the best of the best
You know me
You will remember me
Your children will sing my praises
And your childrens children will restore my honor
MY NAME IS DEMOCRACY
UNBOWED, UNSHAKEN, UNDEFEATED!
