Nianze kwa kusema kwamba nilifarijika sana nilipopata habari za Account ya Tanzanite na kuamua kujiunga mwaka 2006 katikati.Kero kubwa niliyokutana nayo kwa kipindi cha mwaka mzima ni kutokuwa na Cash Card mimi binafsi pamoja na wateja wote tuliokuwa na accounts za UK Sterling Pounds, this means nilipokuwa bongo every time I wanted some money ilinilazimu kupanga foleni na kwa wale wenye hizi accounts mtakubaliana na mimi ni jinsi gani process nzima ya kutoa hela za kigeni counter ilivyokuwa ndefu.Ukienda kwenye branch za mikoani ndio usiseme hasa kama hela unazotaka ni pounds!

Mwaka jana kwenye june nikapata email toka CRDB ikinijulisha kuwa Tembo kadi yangu iko tayari na wanahitaji address yangu ya UK ili waweze kunitumia. Lakini email yenyewe ilikua ni ya kienyeji sana,ulimwengu huu wa siku hizi uliojaa matapeli kibao nilitegemea email yoyote ya CRDB iwe na kwenye headed paper au hata kuwe na logo yao lakini ilikua kama personal email.Kadi nilipoipata I was really excited kwenda kwenye ATM kucheck salio, cha kushangaza hiyo VISA card yao haiwezi kukuonyesha salio ila inakuruhusu ku withdraw! Utawezaje ku withdraw bila kujua kilichomo? bora basi hata wangekuwa wanatutumia paper statement wateja tulioko nje ya nchi lakini kwa kipindi cha miaka miwili sasa nimepokea statement moja tu ya mwezi wa kwanza niilipojiunga.Niliwahi kuwapigia simu na kusuggest tuwe na uwezekano wa ku view balance zetu online lakini nikaambiwa kuwa hiyo huduma itatugharimu wateja hela nyingi sana!

Tanzanite account nafikiri target group yake ni wateja wanaoishi nje ya nchi sasa why should I pay 1 pound everytime I withdraw my own money. Hata kama kuna gharama za kuprocess hizo withdrawal transactions zinazofanyika nje ya nchi kuna justification yoyote ya ku charge Tsh.2300 kwa kila trip yangu kwenye ATM? Kama unataka kunua chochote kwa kutumia hela zako zilizoko kwenye Tanzanite ni lazima uwithdraw hela kwa kuwa hii card yao sio CHIP AND PIN, sasa huu si mtego wa makusudi?Kwanini CRDB wasitupe kadi ambazo zinaendana na mazingira ya huku tunapoishi if they really mean business?

Kero yangu ya mwisho ni hawa ma agents wa CRDB waliosambaa nchi mbalimbali duniani.Ni lazima niseme kwamba jambo la kushangaza ni kwamba kadi yangu na deposit book vilipitia kwa Agent mmoja wa UK japokuwa CRDB wana address yangu, sijui kwa nini havikutumwa directly kwangu. Na nyuma ya bahasha kulikua na address ya agent ya huku meaning that yeye ndiye alivitia vitu hivyo kwenye bahasha na kuvipost kwangu.Hawa ma agents ni watu ambao sijui hata ni vigezo gani vimetumika kuwapata and I must say I dont feel comfortable that someone out there has got all my details-My full name and address, my account number with my life time savings, I have been put in a vulnerable position.

On another note hivi CRDB hawatoi Visa/Master Card ambayo mtu anaweza kuitumia kutoa pesa akiwa nje ya Tz?

Inawezekana CRBD walikurupuka kuanzisha Tanzanite bila maandalizi ya kutosha!

Kwa kuwa nafahamu kwamba ukiwa na Visa card yoyote ile unaweza kutoa pesa hio katika pounds iwe huku ughaibuni au kule TZ, basi huitaji kulipia pesa yote hio kwa hio naona hii ni kamradi tu kwa baadhi ya watu ambao wengine ni hawa agents.

Ningependa kuona kwamba mtu unafungua account ya Tanzanite na system inakuwa ni ileile ya kuhudumiwa kwa standards ya fwedha za kigeni.

KP mbona hizo info hazipo hata kwenye website ya Moneygram? Niliacha kutumia hiyo huduma tangu Western Union walipo introduce service yao ya next day which is really cheap.

Nadhani ni option unachagua atapokea currency ipi (nimeshawahi kuitumia lakini si kwa Tanzania).
Kuhusu hiyo Benki, mimi naona hawako serious. Presentation yao tu mwaka jana iliniacha hoi. Halafu sijui ni hao hao wanakuja mwezi ujao kuongelea kuhusu investments Tanzania na remittances.

KKN, hao jamaa hawajui hata kuheshimu privacy na data za wateja, jinsi ulivyotumiwa kitabu chako ni kiswahiliiii.......
 
Ninayo account ya Tanzanite tangu 2006. nilichofanya nili register pia ku access account online ambayo unaweza kujua balance yako na kutransfer pesa within CRDB bank holders pale unapohitaji. hili unatakiwa ulifanye ukiwa TZ maana kuna kujaza form na kuzisaini.

Tatizo lililonipata ni kwamba, Lengo la kufungua account hii ilikuwa ni kujaribu kupunguza makali ya kutuma pesa nyumbani, cha kushangaza account hii hairuhusu ku transfer pesa online kama ilivyo kwa account ya Tshs( Akiba au current).

Nimejaribu sana kuwasilisha tatizo hili lakini inaonekana aidha haiwezekani kwa sababu za Bank policies, au sababu nyinginezo sijui. mwishowe kufungua kwangu account hii hakukunisaidia sana kama nilivyotegemea.

KP ukituma hela kwa Next Day ya Western Union gharama zake ni nusu ya gharama za kutuma instantly, ie 10 minutes. Kwa huduma ya moneygram kuna nchi ambazo sender anaweza kuamua mlipwaji alipwe kwenye currency gani lakini Tanzania haijatajwa kwenye website yao.

Tanzanite problems are derived from the following reasons.
1.Laws: Tanzania is different country and most of the banking decision pass through BOT approval, this complicate a lot of things example Using Tembocard abroad for customers is simple but what customers need to understand is that BOT is involved in insurance of all banks accounts. When Visa signed contract with CRDB few years ago BOT was on the table to make sure the security of accounts holders is protected. Visa agreed to insure visa logo on Tembocard and CRDB produce the so called TemboVisa with the condition that the card is going to last for one year only. BOT also is so concerned with Tembocard because they insure the card for any financial loss and litigations. This is not as complicated but the problem is that Tanzanite is the first product of its kind so BOT still think the product is risky, CRDB is still consider Tanzanite as a delta project, and Visa need more time to analyze credit of this bank. Due to the fact that laws regarding this cards changes time after time is inevitable for this cards to be delayed sometimes while waiting for decisions between this three different organizations.
2.Privacy: It’s very important to protect customer’s privacy but privacy when customers are in different country and moving a lot is very costly. (a) Due to sensitivity of documents the process is to send documents to Agents and Agents need to approve the application and send them to Tanzania using DHL or FedEx, this process cost $50-$70 to one customer to CRDB. In short one customer may cost up to $150 with overhead costs. This process is very expensive especially for customers who are going through the process but not deposit any funds.(b)Customers are changing address a lot because of nature of lifestyle abroad, most people also change telephone numbers so the only reliable communication is email as strange as it sound is true. Let me give you an example if CRDB want to send you a card which option is better is it for them to send to address which may be old and misplace your card and increase cost or to email you and ask you for your current address before send that card. Email is not 100% privacy as we both know but what is the alternative, because even internet banking somebody may get password just as easy as email. The bottom line is at this moment email is the best alternative, and this is the email which you use in your application.
3.Internet Banking: Most people are not taking advantage of internet banking, since most people who use Tanzanite are saving and sending money more than spending money this tool is necessary. This tool enables you to access your account in real time, check your bank statement and even send message to Tanzanite account representative. This tool is free but to be honest the process is three weeks to a month to set up because the IT department is too slow but with time the process is going to be improved. The good thing about Internet banking is that the set up is only one time process.

Tanzanite is far from perfect but because is the first product of its kind is going to take time to grow and win approval of BOT and Visa. The questions we need to ask ourselves sometimes is that we have a lot of banks in Tanzania but what is their “Tanzanite”?. Is not easy as most people think because of litigations involved. Basi tangu mwanzo wangetuwekea wazi kwamba hiyo service wanaifanyia majaribio tu.It doesnt make sense in the modern competitive world to introduce huduma ambayo unajua wazi kwamba ina mapunguu kibao na haiwezi ku compete na nyingine zilizopo.Cha kushangaza sasa- charges zao ni kama vile hiyo huduma ndio the best out there!
