Barabara za kitambo kutoka sehemu mbali mbali nchini zote humalizikia Nairobi CBD. Mfano, lori kutoka Mombasa kuelekea Kampala lazima ingepitia Nairobi CBD. Matokeo yake ni traffic jam kubwa Nairobi.

Hizi bypass kazi yake ni kuzuia haya. Kama hauna shughuli Nairobi CBD, utapitia kwenye hizi bypass badala ya kuongeza jam town centre.
 
I went on a land scouting spree around this stretch(buroti maguta maguta:p:p) and land prices have started to tripple .i was also equally shocked to find massive road works of feeder roads being upgraded to bitumen standards.there is a portion of kiambu county that is sandwitched in between this highway,the ongoing james gichuru-rironi highway and limuru road,its still largely rural with an agricultural economy mainly green vegetables but the roads used to be pathetic,but i was shocked to find the chinese through shengli company doing a total of 40kms of roads....three local contractors are also doing a total of 30kms...for those kenyans who know this region,its the one that traverses kiambaa-kahuho-ngecha-kabuku-gikuni.....its a small portion of kiambu west appromately 100km square....the road network here will be dense...the tarmacked roads will be leading to peoples door steps...kiambu west lagged behind kiambu east mainly due to poor roads...thika superhighway and north and eastern bypasses boosted kiambu east to astronomical levels such that kiambu east is beaming with gated communities,mega malls,modern warehouses,mini cities etc etc....its now time for kiambu west to shine....the ongoing james gichuru rironi highway...the western by pass and the feeder roads will open up kiambu west....

Nairobi has clearly outgrown her boundaries,this road is entirely in kiambu county but its being labelled as 'nairobi western bypass'...the Nairobi metropolis is way bigger than people think and only second to johannesburg metropolis in terms of scope and development..its high time it starts being treated like as a conurbation first because we need to preserve rich agricultural land that is quickly being eaten by suburban sprawl and second to contain uncontrolled development that leads to emergence of slums...we need to learn from joburg metropolis on how to learn an effective conurbation...joburg started the same way of outgrowing its city proper boundaries,joburg city proper is the same size as nairobi but suburban sprawl is extensive...from pretoria,ekurheleni all the way to randburg are treated as part of joburg metropolis for proper alignment of infrastructure...that area is the same as athi river-kitengela-ongata rongai-ngong-nairobi city proper-thika suburban sprawl,these regions contains most of nairobi built up areas and should be treated as one for proper alignment of infrastructure,nairobi traffic jams are as result of poor alignment of transport corridors along that stretch..we should smell the coffee and do proper planning all have a disaster like lagos in a few years...tucheze ligi yetu kama joburg na tujifunze kutoka kwao.
