Congratulatory message from eu president to kikwete

President Jose Manuel Barroso of the European Commission has congratulated President Jakaya Kikwete on his reelection as President of the United Republic of Tanzania.

In his message, President Barroso made special mention of the historic reconciliation in Zanzibar and referred to the close relations between the European Commission and Tanzania. He pledged continued support for Tanzania to attain the Millenium Development Goals.

President Barroso and President Kikwete are due to meet in Brussels in December on the occasion of the European Development Days.
