By Emmanuel Lengwa 27th April 2011 The recently established task force by Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (Chadema) in Mbeya Region, christened as 'Chadema Twanga Kotekote' yesterday (April 26) was expected to hold a public rally in Kandete village, Rungwe District, in the constituency being led by Minister for Water, Prof Mark Mwandosya. Leader of the task force nicknamed ‘Chadema twanga kote kote', who is also Chadema Mbeya Urban district chairperson, John Mwambigija, said his team left on Monday from Mbeya heading to Kandete village where a huge rally had been organized. He said the team had decided to hold the meeting in Rungwe West constituency on Union Day because it was a public holiday and so there a possibility of a high turnout. Mwambigija said the delegation to Kandete would include Mbeya Urban constituency Member of Parliament Joseph Mbilinyi and Mbeya regional secretary Eddo Makata. He said a Chadema choir was already in Mbeya ready to go and mobilize the people to take part in the rally. He said after the Kandete rally, the team would move on to Tukuyu town where it would hold a big rally today, before heading to Chunya for a similar mission. Chadema aims to strengthen its roots in Rungwe West constituency which is currently under Prof Mark Mwandosya, who is rumoured here to be eyeing the presidency, come 2015. However, Mwandosya himself has never confirmed or denied the rumours. In 2005, he vied for the presidency on his party's ticket, in which he emerged third in preferential votes.
