Zain began in its mobile phone operations in 1998, and now operates networks in 15 African countries, which service more than half of Africa's population.
In April 2005 Mobile Telecommunications Company (MTC), a pioneer of mobile telecommunications in the Middle East, acquired MTC (now Zain Group) for US$3.36 billion as part of their ambition to become an international telecommunications services provider.
Zain have a strong record of growth and operate to the highest standards of professional and corporate ethics. It was created and built by Africans and has invested over US$6bn on the continent. Through investment in Africa the company has directly contributed to the creation of 75,000 jobs and 170,000 distribution outlets across Africa.
98% of Zain staff and management are from Africa.In order to maintain this standard, they are recruiting enthusiastic and ambitious people for their operation across Africa. They are looking into recruiting for across functions: HR, Sales and Marketing, Finance, IT.
Zain will be interviewing candidates for these roles at the Careers in Africa Recruitment Summit scheduled to take place in London on 22-24 May 2009.
