Ex-London mayor Boris Johnson has ruled himself out of the race to be the next Conservative leader and prime minister.
In a speech in London - billed as his campaign launch - Mr Johnson said he did not believe he could provide the leadership or unity needed.
It comes after Justice Secretary and fellow Brexit campaigner Michael Gove's surprise announcement on Thursday morning that he would run for leader.
Home Secretary Theresa May is among the candidates. Nominations shut at noon.

Theresa May ana support kubwa sana ndani ya top echelon ya chama so was Boris Johnson.

Kuingia kwa Michael Gove unexpectedly kunaenda split votes zao katika awamu ya kwanza ambapo wabunge wanachagua top 2.

ukizingatia huyo huyo Gove ndiye mtu aliekuwa kama campaign manager wa Boris bid kama next PM mwenye jukumu la kufanya mobilization support ndani ya chama kwa wabunge. Keshamgeuka mwenzake kwa kusema hafai bado baada ya kufanya nae kazi kwa karibu kama leader wa Brexit anadai aoni Boris kama ni mtu mwenye qualities za kuwa PM.

Kwa upande wa conspirators ni kwamba UK wanatabia ya kuchagua viongozi kutokana na changamoto za nchi in normal circumstances whereby everything is plain sailing and the country is doing ritual politics Boris anaweza faa. Lakini nchi ipo kwenye crisis na wataalamu wengi walianza kum discredit way before the referendum vote ya kuwa sio mtu atakaeweza hiyo nafasi iwapo brexit vote wins.
