Bobi Wine beats up Bebe Cool

Singer Moses Ssali aka Bebe Cool spent hours in hospital on Sunday night after he was beaten up by fellow artiste Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine on the same night.

Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine have been known to be allies, but of recent started exchanging abuses leading to the exchange of blows on Sunday night.

The two singers were part of the several entertainers that had been lined up to entertain revellers at the annual Kitobero fete held at Nakivubo stadium on Sunday.
Drama ensued when, Bobi Wine stood in Bebe Cool’s way as he descended down the stairs from the stage after performing.

The two artistes were involved in a hostile verbal exchange but Bobi Wine took the violent step and tossed a couple of punches on to Bebe Cool’s stomach and chest.

In defence, Bebe Cool tried to push Bobi Wine backwards, but he was overpowered by the Bobi Wine-led Fire Base crew members, who pounced on Bebe Cool and gave him a thorough beating before they disappeared.

Bebe Cool who was lying helplessly on the ground, was carried by sympathisers and his aides and rushed to Central Police Station to open up a case, but was instead referred to Old Kampala Police station.

However, he could not record the statement as his situation was deteriorating. He was later taken to Mayo hospital where he spent close to four hours undergoing treatment.

According to a doctor at the hospital, Bebe Cool fractured his left leg and had body pains as a result of the beatings.

Bebe Cool today recorded a statement Old Kampala Police station and opened up a case of assault against Bobi Wine.

Bobi Wine could not be reached by press time, as his cell phone was switched off, but Bebe Cool said he was feeling better and was headed for a show in Mbarara.

Meanwhile, Bobi Wine is facing two charges of being a nuisance and for erecting a building without the permission of the Kampala city council.

Bobi Wine appeared before court today but the case was adjourned to June 24 when he is expected to reappear in court.
