The buses are being produced to government of Kenya specifications complete with air suspension and wheelchair access. They are complete world class BRT buses unlike what some of our neighbors have.
The buses will be assembled by Associated motors in Mombasa. (BTW, Kenya is the only country in East Africa with vehicle manufacturing in multiple cities).
Initial plans to import buses from South Africa were shelved for better quality buses manufactured in Mombasa. Isuzu East Africa in Nairobi will have to up their game if they intend to get a piece of the cake.
