VERIFICATION OF REGISTERED EFD/VFD MACHINES BY ALL TAXPAYERS
PUBLIC NOTICE
Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has noted with concern, incidences of some taxpayers
disowning the Electronic Fiscal Devices (EFDs/VFDs) registered in their Taxpayer
Identification Numbers. This indicates a potential breach of provisions of the law governing
management of Electronic Fiscal Devices ranging from poor management of machines to
fraudulent acts.
In order to mitigate the situation, all taxpayers are urged to verify correctness and legality of
Devices registered in their names and report any anomaly observed particularly presence of
Devices they don’t recognize or need to be blocked and put out of use. The list of machines
for each taxpayer can be accessed in the Taxpayer Portal through the path Taxpayer
Portal>Services>EFD and VFD Error Management Services>My Devices.
It should be noted that, failure to verify and report any unrecognized EFDs registered in your
name may lead to serious consequences involving loss of Government revenue. To avoid all
sort of inconveniences, you are urged to make periodic verification of devices registered
under your TIN and immediately report any anomaly.
