Academic transcription refers to speech to text conversion of lectures, seminars, discussions, presentations held in schools, colleges or universities into a text format for educational purpose and hence termed as Academic transcription. Academic transcription are broadly categorized in two categories, they are real time academic transcription and non-real time academic transcription. A real time academic transcription is needed when the speaker and the audience do not speak a common tongue, academic transcriptionist then convert the speech into a text and display it on the screen instantly for the audience. A non-real time academic transcriptionist primarily does the same thing but not instantly.
