This is another case for mismanagement by the government and ultimately pass on the cost due to price fluctuations and other inefficiencies to poor Tanzanians.
Just take an example, the effect of the 60 shilling depreciation in the period of one month on MSD's budget. For example, if MSD were to import usd 5m worth of drugs they would end up paying additional 300m.
what will bare the cost? the poor wananachi! This would had easily been avoided if we had a vigilant central bank and a MoF. They don't care! they keep on blaming the donor community.
If economic fundamentals have not changed than punish the culprits, when will you use your reserves? unless the Bank of Tanzania is lying, which is possible. The inflation figure do not reflect the reality on the ground.
The MoF and the Bank of Tanzania are there to make our lives difficult and not better.
