I have looked in the 2020 GDP list, sub-Saharan Africa has 7 countries in top 10 of which 3 are in Eastern Africa: (Kenya, Ethiopia and Tanzania).

Debates aside, to me this is great news! A place of opportunities and personal investment kwa wale wa kujituma, Uganda is not badly off it's in top 20. Rwanda though small, is coming up good, South Sudan are stabilizing, Somalia ndio mwiba, though its people are aggressive. In comparison to the rest, we beat western Africa and Southern Africa(as far as growth is concerned). Therefore Eastern Africa is the place to be, in the next 10 to 15 years I wonder what East Africa will look like! A chance to reduce poverty by creating more opportunities by the growths.
Economies of Nigeria and South Africa are growing at a slower rate, at times they post negatives. Eastern Africa has the fastest growing economies. Which as I perceive(excluding corona menace) it won't slow any time soon.
