Over this past weekend Field
Police Officers evicted up families
from Kampala area barracks.
Their businesses were also torn
down.
With no place to go, the evictees
claim that it is because the
barracks voted overwhelmingly for
Besigye over Museveni.
However, Police spokesman Fred
Enanga has come out denying this
and says people were evicted
because of congestion in the
barracks since UPF does not have
enough accommodation for its
men and women in uniform.
The police force has grown by
15,000 and yet no new
accommodation has been built.
Some families were even staying
two per unit and many had set up
stalls to make some money.
