Zarubezhstroy Corp to build hydro plant in Tanzania

Russian based-Zarubezhstroy Corporation will begin work on constructing a $700m hydroelectric power plant at Rumakali in Iringa region, Tanzania.

The plant will generate 222 MW of electricity which will be fed directly into the national grid.

On completion, the facility is expected to cover between 20 to 25% of hydropower needs in the country.

The company through its various other ventures will incorporate latest technologies in the hydro plant, currently being built.

Work on the project is expected to be complete within five years, according to busiweek.com.

The Russian power firm also produces and supplies equipment to electricity ventures across the globe.
