The African Union Security Council met in Ethiopia for three days and it seems they could not get along over who should be the next head of the AU. There contestants were Dr. Jean Ping from Gabon and Nsokazana Dlamini-Zuma from South Africa. The female contestant from South Africa, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma (63 years) emerged the winner on the 15th July 2012 AU elections. She is taking the AU when Africa is facing many challenges like conflicts in Somalia, DRC, Mali, Sudan and Southern Sudan and Nigeria. Will she make good use of her skills and experiences from her previous posts as a foreign minister, health minister, home affairs minister, DRC mediator and participant in changing the OAU to AU?
