Why Magufuli administration misses the point on Government splurge

Our post colonial industrialization strategy remains the same overdependent on alien generosity of which has been inadequate and destructive.

So where the Chinese and Cubans are viewed as the main hope of our industrialization but the truth needs no repetition only our local initiatives will get us where we want to go.

Tax incentives which are bureaucracy free and blithely with automatic qualifiers ought to be etched in our laws.

We do not need TIC or anything like that but tax laws brimming with mega incentives to whoever is willing to invest in industrialization.

But if the tax regime remains unfriendly to investors no matter how Herculean effort is directed to tap on aliens' benevolence will not get us to the Promised Land.

How will you rate him five years from now? Having a new constitution that will strengthen accountability or indulging himself in punishing "prawns" in our morally decadent public institutions?

Will presidential amnesties be done with in that "strong policies" of yours? We all know better

So far Magufuli has shown a determination to bring development to our country but so did his predecessors !! If he wants to accomplish what his predecessor failed miserably and leave a plausible legacy of his tenure then he should make sure he gives the people the CONSTITUTION they yearn to have.

Since i'm seeing this on 4th October 2016, my averment is that to some extent, the political infrastructure in place currently isn't the best, but if it were to be critically adhered to then Tanzania as a country would have made a notable step towards "acceptable" political maturity.

just my 2 cents

Hopefully the constitutional exercise will have to begin afresh after being anchored in the current one.

The previous constitutional reform was hijacked by anti reforms in his own party and as a result the constitutional reforms articles were incurably defiled rendering the constitutional law proposed an exercise in futility.

Curiously, both Jpm and Lowassa okayed this constitutional proposal reminding us they are both anti genuine reforms but support constitutional window dressing

True this is why we need to fix a failing system which rewards politicians but not hardworking citizens.

There is a destructive obsession in low productivity politics rather than real production.

No wonder we keep lagging behind in GDP per capita incomes but making huge advances towards building national debt burden whose beneficiary remains unknown or hidden from public glare.

Do you mean unfriendly tax regime are not favouring investors?

Did you hear about recent court of appeal ruling in favour of TRA against Acacia?

If you allow investor to hid their expenditure which is through dividends without supporting evidence or showing paperwork to support their case, how can you place friendly tax system to tax dodger?

Acacia had avoided paying taxes to TRA for nearly 4 years from 2011 to 2014, this is not acceptable at all.

If it was you, where and how would you start with such investor?

The Dodoma killings show the high level of IGNORANCE in this country.

I cant believe this area has no school so people can read the plate number of the car, or the words on the side of the door?

Also, why the deceased failed to report to the ward office of village leader to make their presence known to locals?

The Pastor himself is not a pastor, he is a SECT leader who believe in Cannibalism.

Let the law take it's course and those responsible face justice.
The killings show how most of village people lack of human sensibility.

Its just IGNORANCE and lack of education.

Is a SECT with their appetite for human flesh which is only attracting them through burning.

It also show low level of INTELLIGENCE of its kind.

Put it in CONTEXT.

The acacia scam is an inside job. Unscrupulous TRA principals knew it and surreptitiously condoned it to wax their own pockets. It was when the wind blew against it that whistleblower was hearkened.

Isolated incidents cannot sway the fact the tax regime needs some serious rehab: too many tax codes, a narrow tax base catalyzing illegal double taxation and too many loopholes spurred by overtaxing to pay to play!

I am not convinced this is the case in this particular incidence. The villagers believed they were defending themselves against a real threat of vampires baying for their blood.

One prominent business man in Dodoma municipality has been named to ply this grotesque trade on human blood the question is what did the police do to allay or confirm the allegations. Of recent, police resources have been deviated to abuse constitutional rights of free speech as a weapon to maintain the status quo.

That could have been a key in dissuading the rumours behind the tragedy.

Spirit of tradition stoke these superstitious apprehensions.

Yesterday JPM was replete with outright contradictions. On one hand he blames sardines for the embezzlement and graft at TPA whose minister Prof. Mbawala was its immediate minister incharge of TPA!

He trust Mbawala to fix the rot there which in his immediate role had no idea of what to do!

When it comes to praise JPM reserved his accolades to JK but not to the very sardines who oversaw the nuts and bolts of the building erection.

Neither JK nor Mbawala were criticized for the TPA perceived rot!

This kind of demeanour is snobbish in every sense of the word.

Expect graft courts to target sardines and no sharks!

If we are serious to develop sports both the government and ccm need to relinquish owning of stadia.

Politics in sports may help snatching leverage in it but sports blossom in non political interference.

National stadium ought to be handed to TFA as its sole owner and let it manage it. In equal footing ccm should hand over stadia scattered all over the country to the TFA.

The ban of using national stadium is counterproductive. It does not solve the football hooliganism which needs to target the culprit not the clubs nor does it help to propel our soccer development.

Politicians love to flex their muscles to remind whoever cares to note who is in charge regardless of the consequences

The accused are not cannibals because they did not eat human flesh before or after burning.

They were protecting themselves against spurious perceptions of blood sucking vampires whom they believed those researchers were.

Lack of education yes but cannibals no.

Who should be blamed for the Dodoma killings? Police force or villagers?

Both! The police for failing the villagers when reported this business man and the villagers for taking the law in their own hands.

Again I must admit all this is based upon hearsay being truthful which my own experience reminds me not that glitters is a gold or diamond sometimes it is s shard!

Kabila symbolizes what is wrong with African leadership.

After two decades or more in power he is not ashamed to capitalize on his massive failures to govern as a leeway to extend his rule.

A prudent leader will admit his failures and leave future leaders to rectify them

Some of excuses he is circulating are so laughable I keep wondering why he is repeating them.

The president has no role to update the voter register but strangely he is parlaying even that to overstay in power. Do not be surprised if he later claims he views no credible successor but himself! A megalomania in town...

If over ten years reign could not fix the deficiencies he is now exploiting them to stay in power illegally what two more years would resolve? Nothing beyond manipulating further the electoral process to suit his myopic lusts.

Those who reward him with rapturous ovation have a hidden agenda.

Could be doing it to justify future rigging our elections to justify another five year in power.

Well said brother.

I think most African leaders are not well versed with the word leadership. A good leader must have the humility to understand when he is wrong and what can be done so as to rectify his mistake but to African leaders is quite different.

Also, most of them are very good in changing the rules or laws in the middle of the game so as to holding the power.

Frankly they need an education over the criterion of good leadership.

The beauty of life is not so much where we are but in what direction we are moving to!
