Ingawaje katika uhalisia wake "demokrasia inastahiki kulindwa [kwa njia za kidemokrasia] popote pale ulimwenguni," tatizo la Afrika (in most of it) hakuna demokrasia bali viongozi wanatumia mgongo wa demokrasia kujenga na kulinda himaya zao ambazo ni mbaya zaidi kuliko udikteta.
