Hivi kuna mtu anayo mafaili ya huyu bwana au picha akiwa na radicals kisha tujue kama alikuwa si radical enzi zake wakati anasoma University. Waziri mzima badala ya kureason na hawa wanafunzi anaanza kuwa demonise.

WAZIRI wa Elimu na Mafunzo ya Ufundi, Profesa Jumanne Maghembe, amesema fujo zinazotokea mara kwa mara katika vyuo vikuu nchini zinatokana na viongozi wa serikali za wanafunzi katika vyuo husika.

Alisema hali hiyo inatokana na utamaduni uliojengeka miongoni mwa wanafunzi kuchagua viongozi wao miongoni mwa wanafunzi ambao wana misimamo mikali na wepesi wa kuhimiza au kufanya vurugu.

If being "radical" is what I saw on TV while the UDSM students were demonstrating against "mafisadi" then we definitely need more radicals.

They can probably tone down some hooliganism elements like the incident when they invaded a lecturer's house, ending up with one of them dying in the pool a couple of days ago.It is clear that there are frustrations abound leading our "wasomi" to such desperate measures and if the Maghembes of Tanzania will do their work, they will have a greater commanding voice due to a clearer line of separation between the acceptable political radicals (universities are meant to be thought provoking places and not passive hibernation camps anyway) and the hooligans.

To the apartheid regime ANC was a terrorist organization, in SOWETO Umkontho We Sizwe have always been hailed as heroes, one man's hero is another's terrorist.Who are the heroes and who are the terrorists?

Kama aliyosema Prof ni kweli, basi tunahitaji More radicals maana Zitto nae alikuwa kiongozi wa Daruso na sasa tumeona alichokifanya, kina Mbatia, na wengine wote waliopitia uongozi vyuo mbali mbali basi. Uongozi umewajenga na kuwafanya wazalendo ktu ambacho prof anakikosa na ndio maana anataka kupiga Mkwala.

Pili uongozi wa wanafunzi ni chombo huru na kinajiamulia mambo yake Je Prof anataka kuanza kuwachagulia uongozi??????

Mbona hazungumzii UDASA, SUASA na kwingineko kwenye radical kama kina Shivji, et al??????

Mbona hauzungumzii sisiem kuna watu radical wa kufanya vurugu tena hazarani kama kina Komba. (NB:sisiem including Komba bado ni mwanafunzi wa CIVICS).

Campus violence continues in Durban

Violence erupted for a third day in a row at Durban’s Mangosuthu University of Technology today as police and students clashed.

Police fired rubber bullets at protesting students, who retaliated by throwing rocks and bottles and setting alight debris on the Mangosuthu Buthelezi Highway, which runs past the institution.

Police closed off the highway, which was barricaded with broken branches and bags of refuse by students, many wielding sticks and knobkerries.

At least eight students were arrested and placed on the back of a police bakkie during running battles in the road. There were no immediate reports of injuries.

Local shop-keepers operating out of containers alongside the highway battened down the hatches when the fighting started.
