Is she Mindi Kasiga or Mindi Kasiga Tarimo? She was a Senior Communication Officer in charge of coordination of Government Communication at the Directorate of Communication and Press in the Office of the President of Tanzania.
She studied Communications Arts in the US, majoring in Public Relations and Electronic Media. She is a member of a recent-established Tanzania chapter of International Association of Business Communicators, a member of Communications Honor Society of American Universities and a member of Eastern and Southern Africa Youth Initiative.
She has hold positions in the Government including:
- Co-Director of communications for the Office of the President of Tanzania.
- Senior Communication Officer from the Office of the President of Tanzania.
- Afisa Uhusiano wa Wizara ya Mambo ya Nje na ushirikiano wa Kimataifa.
Kama umeangalia picha za viongozi toka foreign affair chini unakuta zimeandikwa: "Photo by Mindi Kasiga Tarimo of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation." She has been in charge of pushing for government to change the way it communicate with the public. Basically, I would say about PR and communication using the new technologies and social media.
If is Mindi Kasiga Tarimo, she has been a Secretary of the Unity of Women Friends (UWF), a volunteer non-governmental-association based in Dar es salaam. In case you're looking for connections the other UWF members are/were Mwate Madinda, Belinda Kivuyo Ngowe, Galina Ambari, Esther Wakati, Jane Ikira, Martha Kallaghe, Maryam Shamo, Jane Magembe, Lydia Sakaya, Juhayna Kusaga.
According to an article published in the Daily News by Michuzi in 2010 in which he interviewed her, the friendship of the named persons above go back ten years ago when most of them used to work in the same office (though the office was not named) (Daily News | Career women out to educate young girls).
Check PR CONVERSATIONS kuna interviews zake humo za Government PR and communications. According Mindi Kasiga, if the Government wants to communicate with the public, they would have to shift their paradigm from the old school of information to advanced two-way communication and engagement.
