Ndivyo Tulivyo goes far beyond your perception that I've given up and there is nothing I can do to change the status quo, mindset, habits, etc. etc. I am a firm believer in proving people wrong and so far in my life I've done just that. If I can do it, then you can do it, he can do it, she can do it, they can do it, and most importantly we can and we will do it!

Hata wakasafishana ..wanachi wakakataa ...hawa viongozi watanyoka...

I am proud of this guy. He is a Tanzania na story yake ilitokea kwenye gazeti la Charlotte Observer.

JOHN MASHAKA, A PEACE- MAKER IN THE MAKING

    By our Staff Writers
    04 March 2008
    The Charlotte Observer

He sat quietly in a business, navy blue suit, amidst prominent, well known corporate heads in the Cozy and exclusive, South Park Manzetti Restaurant Board Room. Until he rose to speak, everyone, all members of the prestigious Rotary Club International, wondered what this quite, humble young man was up to.

As the say goes, that, do not judge a book by its cover, well, he proved those who judged him by his quietness wrong; he had more for his listeners than the expensive suit he wore. His heart spoke louder than his voice

His soft tone did not stay soft for a long time; his eloquence rented the room and pierced through many hearts; John Mashaka, delivered a well thought concise and poignant speech that touched different aspects of human suffering.

"Why must we kill each other? Why must we hate each other? And how for how long are we going to stand while seeing the world burn in ashes? I am not a philosopher or a politician; I am only a concerned private citizen who wants to see the best out of men.

I only want to see human living by each other happiness not by each other's misery. I want to see a world where humans are not being treated as charity cases but as humans" These were Mashaka's concluding sentences.

Not a stranger to the podiums or headlines, John Mashaka, is becoming a household name by his emotional and inspiring speeches across the state.

Joan Cooper, Cooper & Company's, CEO, a well known millionaire, could not help herself, but break in tears to hear Mr. Mashaka narrate his horrific stories of suffering while visiting Tanzania, last August.

He is indeed God sent servant. The world needs more of Mr. Mashaka, I was particularly touched by his humility and love towards humanity, recounted Ms. Cooper.

Wachovia's Investment Banker, Mashaka, balances his busy, fast paced Wall-Street work by donating his time to charitable organizations across the country, and takes three weeks annually without pay, to help people in his native country of Tanzania with his own funds
Mashaka narrated seeing 20 children at Safina-Orphanage in the middle of the slams go without food, and the most touching story was about a two year old boy, suffering from Meningitis at Shirati-Hopsital who could not receive treatment, due to lack of $12

John Mashaka, a native of Tanzania, grabbed headlines in 2005; after he sold his car and returned to his homeland to help his village during famine, with food and clean water. His latest trip to Tanzania was featured in Business Week Magazine's, December edition.

He is currently planning to establish his own foundation that will cater for his village's social needs such as a secondary school, a clinic and a fund to sponsor bright kids into higher learning institutions

A 2004 UNC graduate, Mr. Mashaka is not your typical young man; he is a man with a mission, he is well respected, and stands tall in his peer group, and could not have come at a perfect time, when the world need millions of generous and passionate people like him

    Nyangumi,

Swali ni kwa nini Serikali yetu si pro-active? why are they so passive on issues that matter? May be I should ask why is CCM so passive on issues that matters but extremly pro-active on issues that do not matter?
