EMERGENCY WATER, SANITATION & HYGIENE (WASH) SPECIALIST NO 3 - TEMPORARY APPOINTMENT,
The Young Child Survival and Development Section of UNICEF, Tanzania seeks an , Emergency Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) Specialist for a one year post starting in Dar es Salaam starting in July 2010.
Under the guidance of the UNICEF WASH Manager, the staff member will be responsible for strengthening of the WASH sector in Tanzania for emergency preparedness and response and to ensure effective and well coordinated responses to emergencies. S/he will also support UNICEF's WASH emergency work covering its capacity building programme including training and nientoring of partners and supporting the focus of sector activities and coordination of the WASH emergency partners; and be engaged in current and future emergency and cholera preparedness and response activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The post requires a highly motivated and competent person with an Advanced Degree in a WASH related field e.g., Environment, Public Health, Civil Engineering, or other related : field, 5 or more years of work experience in the WASH sector. Experience of working in : emergencies is essential. Strong organization skills and communication skills, both oral and in writing, in both Kiswahili and English are essential.
