These pets are definitely better-off than most human beings. Some of the pet owners didn't know what to do with their money, some even left these pets with a share of their large estate. Other owners simply found these animals more trustworthy than any human being.

These are the world's richest pets, richer than most human beings in the planet.

Gunther IV is the richest pet to date. The German Shepherd belongs to the second generation of Countess Karlotta Liebenstein's original pet heir, Gunther III. Gunther IV bought a Miami villa from Madonna and won a rare truffle in an auction. The growing trust fund of Gunther IV is now estimated at $372 million.

Thanks to the generous owner of his father, poodle Toby Rimes is now worth $92 million. His father inherited $30 million from Ella Wendel of New York in 1931. He moved one rank higher in 2010 when aristocrat Patricia O'Neill, who had pledged to bequeath £40m to her pet monkey Kalu, confessed losing almost all of her fortune.

Keiko, the killer whale that starred in Free Willy films, is the richest whale on earth. His total earnings by the time of his death were estimated at $35 million.

Gigoo the Hen received a £10-million present from publishing magnate owner Miles Blackwell a decade ago.

Cat Blackie inherited a big chunk of Ben Rea's $15-million fortune. The British recluse left nothing to his relatives.Dog Frankie and cats Ani and Pepe le Pew are worth £3 million each.
