    Jana baadhi ya hoteli za Jijini Dar-es-Salaam zimepewa nyota ili kuwezesha kutambua hadhi/ubora wa hoteli kama ilivyozoeleka katika hotel industry duniani. Pamoja na kupongeza hatua hii muhimu...mchakato huo kidogo unatia mashaka kama ulikiwa objective...au ndio mambo ya kujuana au rushwa imetembea.. haiingii akilini hoteli kama GOLDEN TULIP, leo hii kuwa classiffied as 4 star hotel- kwani hoteli ile kwa hali ya sasa haina sifa za kupewa class hiyo kwani ina mapungufu mengi ikiwa ni pamoja na:
    -Kuvuja maji (ukumbi wa mikutano na lobby)
    -Huduma mbovu inayochangiwa na uchache wa wafanyakazi (wamepunguza wafanyakazi wengi kutokana na ugumu wa uchumi)
    -Vyumba kuwa na harufu kali inayotokana na sigara na uchafu wa muda mrefu
    -Simu kutofanya kazi kwenye baadhi ya vyumba
    -Kutokuwa na huduma za internet etc etc

    Labda kwa kwa ufahamu tu, hoteli yenye hadhi ya FOUR STAR yatakiwa kuwa na sifa zifuatazo:

    4 STAR HOTEL (FIRST CLASS
    Reception opened 18 hours, bilingual staff (e.g. French/English) accessible by phone 24 hours from inside and outside - Lobby with seats and beverage service - Breakfast buffet or breakfast menu card via room service - Minibar or 24 hours beverages via room service - Upholstered chair/couch with side table - Bath robe and slippers on demand - Cosmetic products (e.g. shower cap, nail file, cotton swabs), vanity mirror, tray of a large scale in the bathroom) - Internet access and internet terminal - „À la carte“-restaurant
    The Superior flag is provided when the first class hotel has a proven high quality not only in the rooms. The superior hotels provide for additional facilities in the hotel like a sauna or a workout room. The quality is checked regularly by mystery guesting of an external inspection service.

    Hatimaye Wizara ya Maliasili na Utalii imezipatia hadhi ya NYOTA hoteli za Tanzania ambapo 66 kati ya hotel 99 zilizokuwa kwenye kinyang'anyiro zimepata hadhi ya nyota kwenye ngazi mbalimbali.

    Huku the Kilimanjaro Hotel Kempinski, Movenpick Royal Palm Hotel and Sea Cliff Hotel, wakiibuka na hadhi ya nyota 5 mahoteli mengine kumi yakiibuka na hadhi ya nyota nne (Four Star) nayo ni Golden Tulip Hotel, New Africa Hotel and Casino, Paradise City Hotel, Protea Hotel and Serviced Apartments, Southern Sun Dar es Salaam, Saadani Safari Lodge, White Sand Hotel, Giraffe Ocean View, Hotel Harbour View Apartments na Kinasi Mafia Hotel.

    Akizungumza baada ya kukabidhiwa tuzo hiyo Mkurugenzi wa Giraffe Ocean View Hotel Dr. Charles Bekon amesema kuwa hayo ni mafanikio ya kujivunia kwani Hotel yao ina muda mfupi na hasa ukizingatia ushindani mkubwa wa biashara ambapo sekta ya Mahotel hasa ya kitalii imekamatwa na wageni.

    2 Star (standard)
    In addition to the single star (*) hotels: - Breakfast buffet - Reading light next to the bed - Bath essence or shower gel - * Bath towels - Linen shelves - Offer of sanitary products (e.g. toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving kit) - Credit Cards

    3 Star (comfort)
    In addition to the standard star (**) hotels: - Reception opened 14 hours, accessible by phone 24 hours from inside and outside, - Three piece suite at the reception, luggage service - Beverage offer in the room - Telephone in the room - Internet access in the room or in the public area - Heating facility in the bathroom, hair-dryer, cleansing tissue - Dressing mirror, place to put the luggage/suitcase - Sewing kit, shoe polish utensils, laundry and ironing service - Additional pillow and additional blanket on demand - Systematic complaint management system
    The Superior flag is provided when the additional service and accommodation provisions are not sufficient for the next Hotelstar. The accommodation facilities for a superior hotel need to be on a modern level and fully renovated which is checked regularly.

    4 Star (first class)
