Viongozi wa kisiasa hawastahili kuitwa wastaafu

    Jamani nakerwa sana na hii tabia ya kuwaita viongozi wa kisiasa waliopita kama "rais mstaafu" na "waziri mkuu mstaafu"! Wanaostaafu ni wale waliofikisha umri wa kustaafu kwenye mkataba wa utumishi wa umma au binafsi ambao hapa kwetu kisheria ni miaka 55 kwa hiari na 60 kwa lazima ukiondoa majaji wa mahakama ya rufaa ambao kwao ni miaka 65.
    Hata hivyo, rais kwa mujibu wa katiba aweza kuongeza muda wa utumishi wao. Aidha mtu aweza kustaafu sababu za kiafya. Hivyo, kustaafu ni kukoma kwa utumishi kwa sababu tajwa hapo juu. Tofauti na kustaafu kujiuzulu ni kukoma utumishi kabla ya kuisha kwa mkataba wa ajira.
    Sasa basi siku tukiwa na rais au waziri mkuu mwenye miaka 70 akimaliza muda wake wa kutumikia umma tutasema kweli amestaafu? Na akijiuzulu pia itakuwaje asemekane amestaafu? Watanzania tumekuwaje lakini?
    Nashauri waitwe viongozi wa zamani tu yaani "rais wa zamani" au "waziri mkuu wa zamani".
    Kama issue ni marupurupu ndio maana kuna upotoshaji huu ni vema sheria inayogusa maslahi yao ikatamka maneno "former" and not "retired" president or PM. Kwa sababu wasije wakawa wanaitwa hivyo ili wawe tu ndani ya sheria. Tusiharibu lugha yetu jamani.

    It is a shame that we don't respect how public figures should be addressed. It is ridiculous if people can't distinguish the difference between "former" and "retired". That ignorance is experienced only in Tanzania.
