Insignia for Aide to President of the United States

Prior to 1946, there was no prescribed insignia for Aides to the President of the United States. In 1946, an insignia was adopted -- 48 stars in a ring on a shield surmounted by an eagle. This design was changed in 1953 to 13 white stars on a blue shield surmounted by an eagle. The insignia for Aides to the Vice President of the United States was approved on 24 January 1969

    Haya tumeyajadili hapa
