    THE UNITED REPUBLIC OF TANZANIA
    PRESIDENT’S OFFICE
    PUBLIC SERVICE RECRUITMENT SECRETARIAT
    VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
    The Public Service Recruitment Secretariat was established in accordance with
    section No.29(1) of the Public Service (Amendment) Act No.18 of 2007. One of the main
    functions of this organ is to advertise vacant posts occurring in the Public Service and
    conduct recruitment process.
    On behalf of National Identification Authority (NIDA), Public Service Recruitment
    Secretariat invites qualified Tanzanians to fill various vacant posts in the aforementioned
    institution. NIDA’s core functions include Identification and Registration of Persons,
    Issuance and Management ID Cards, Management and Maintenance of Persons register,
    and Provision of Information from the register.
    Therefore, Public Service Recruitment Secretariat invites qualified Tanzanians to fill the
    following posts:-
    1. Job Title: SENIOR REGISTRATION OFFICER (1 POST)

    Reports to: Manager/Identification and Registration
    a) Duties and Responsibilities:
     Receives applications from the Regions;
     Conducts verification and authentication of the applications for ID
    cards;2
     Prepares Regional Registration Reports;
     Implements Identification and authentication procedures;
     Prepares applications for data entry;
     Supervises applications particulars;
     Data cleaning;
     Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the
    Manager/Identification and Registration.
    b) Entry Qualifications:
    Holder of Masters Degree in Public Administration, Sociology, Demography,
    Law and any other related field from any recognized institution and with
    experience of at least three (3) years in related field.
    2. Job Title: REGISTRATION OFFICER II (68 POSTS DISTRICTS)
    Reports to: Manager/Identification and Registration
    a) Duties and Responsibilities:
     Carries out validation and updates of ID cards;
     Processes renewal applications for ID cards;
     Processes updates applications for ID cards;
     Prepares responses for ID cards enquiries;
     Prepares statistics report;
     Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the
    Manager/Identification and Registration.
    b) Entry Qualifications:
    Holder of Bachelors Degree in Public Administration, Sociology, Demography,
    Law and any other related field from any recognized institution.
    3. Job Title: INTERNAL AUDITOR II (1 POST)
    Reports to: Chief Internal Auditor
    a) Duties and Responsibilities:
     To ensure proper books of accounts are maintained in accordance
    with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and International
    Accounting Standards;
     To ensure all receipts and payments of the Authority are properly
    received and spent properly;
     To ensure that the Authority’s Financial Regulations are adhered to;
     To ensure implementation of various system introduced by the
    Authority;3
     Ensure that the Systems of Internal controls, both Physical and
    Financial are working effectively and that there are no deviations
    thereof;
     To follow up and implement External Auditors
    queries/recommendations;
     For expediency and taking a quick corrective measure, the unit shall
    forward their findings hence any irregularities/apparent defects
    observed or discovered in the course of audit to the Head of
    Departments and copied to the Director General;
    b) Entry Qualifications:
    Holder of Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting, Finance or its equivalent from
    any recognized Institution and experience of not less than three years (3) in
    the same field.
    4. Job Title: COMPUTER SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR II (1 POST)
    Reports to: Manager/Networking and Information Systems
    a) Duties and Responsibilities:
     Analyses, designs, modifies and gives support of computer
    information systems;
     Ensures the installation, programming, testing, monitoring and
    maintenance of software packages and applications systems;
     Maintain NIDAs various databases;
     Ensures that computer systems are available when required and are
    functioning properly;
     Ensures the development, maintenance and support of computer
    networks and personal computing infrastructure;
     Ensures that computing systems is operated and supported in an
    efficient and effective manner.
     Designs improved approaches to operating situations;
     Reviews documentation prepared by systems personnel;
     Defines test schedules and test data requirements;
     Codes application program of large systems;
     Determines optimum equipment utilization;
     Organizes and directs execution of programming tasks performed by
    Programmers;
     Assists in review of project progress and report status accordingly;
     Assists in directing the design of new systems and the improvement
    of existing ones;
     Analyses possibilities of developing computer networks and data
    communications;
     Performs any other duties as may be assigned by his/her superiors.

    b) Entry Qualifications:4
    Holder of Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Engineering/IT from a
    recognized Institution.
    5. Job Title: ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER I (1 POST)
    Reports to: Manager/Administration and Human Resources
    Management
    a) Duties and Responsibilities:
     Coordinates maintenance and development of Authority’s Estate;
     Maintains appropriate records of fleet operations, equipment and
    other properties of the Authority;
     Deals with Human Resources wastage tasks regarding retirement
    gratuities, pension, severance allowances, engagement contract,
    dismissals, terminations, accidents and deaths;
     Ensures good security to visitors and their properties;
     Deals with insurance matters and welfare schemes;
     Supervises registry administration and Management;
     Supervises traveling and Transport;
     Deals with office supplies and requirements general;
     Ensures good office cleanliness;
     Performs any other duties assigned by his/her superiors.
    b) Entry Qualifications:
    Holder of postgraduate qualifications in Human Resources Management or
    equivalent qualifications from recognized institution. Excellent communication
    skills in both English and Kiswahili and should be Computer literate.
    6. Job Title: SENIOR STATISTICS OFFICER (I POST)
    Repots to: Manager/Planning Research and Statistics
    a) Duties and Responsibilities:
     Design and implement surveys to collect statistical data for the use in
    business planning.
     Analyze statistical data and prepare reports to communicate results
    accurately and clearly to managers and employees.
     Develop and maintain a statistical database for use by organization
    and its employees
     Maintain and develop comprehensive and up to date knowledge of
    statistical techniques and development to ensure that any analysis
    carried out is based on the best and most up to date information and
    method.5
     Develop and maintain contacts with external sources to ensure that
    the best possible information is gained and to provide effective
    advice to managers and staff.
     Represent the organization at external meetings and conferences on
    statistical issues, ensuring that a positive image of the organization is
    promoted.
     Maintain a comprehensive database of relevant economic
    information.
     Respond to enquiries from managers and relevant external bodies
    relating to statistical data in the organization and the sectors.
    b) Entry Qualifications:
    Holder of Masters Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Statistics or
    Economics from a recognized University; computer literate with working
    experience in the area of statistical analysis for not less than six years;
    Thorough knowledge on the issues concerning registration of population,
    Research and analysis skills and Good interpersonal skills.

    and Good interpersonal skills.
    8. Job Title: PERSONAL SECRETARY II (2 POSTS)
    Reports to: Principal Administrative Officer
    a) Duties and Responsibilities:
     Types classified/confidential matters;
     Ensures that computers are well maintained;
     Receives telephone calls and keeps records of messages;
     Receives visitors and arranges for appointments;
     Keeps a record of files;
     Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by his/her
    superiors.
    b) Entry Qualifications:
    Holder of CSE with four passes including English and Kiswahili and who has
    attained a typing speed of 40 w.p.m., Manuscript and Tabulation II, Office
    Practice and Secretarial duties I and Shorthand of 80 w.p.m. from a
    recognized institution. Must have computer knowledge.
    9. Job Title: RECORDS MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT II (l POST)
    Reports to: Principal Records Management Assistant
    a) Duties and Responsibilities:
     Receives all incoming mails and enters them in the relevant registers;
     Files letters and documents;
     Receives and distributes official publications according to standing
    instructions;
     Dispatches mails for review;
     Opens registered letters; Distributes files to scheduled officers;
     Files correspondence in appropriate files and cross referencing;
     Copies correspondence to relevant files and attends them whenever
    necessary;
     In-charge of all dispatches, flimsy files and franking machines;
     Performs any other duties assigned by Senior Staff
    b) Entry Qualifications:7
    Holders of Certificate of Secondary School Education who have passed the
    Records Management Certificate.
    10. Job Title: DRIVER II (11 POSTS)
    Reports to: Transport Officer
    a) Duties and Responsibilities:
     Drives NIDA vehicles skillfully;
     Maintains and keeps up-to-date log-books;
     Adheres to Maintenance Schedules;
     Keeps motor vehicles in good running conditions and reports
    immediately faults and defects to Transport officer;
     Ensures that valid documents are obtained prior to commencing any
    journey;
     Ensures safety and cleanliness of the vehicle at all times; send and
    collect mails to and from the office;
     Performs any other duties as may be assigned by his/her superiors.
    b) Entry Qualifications:
    Holder of Secondary School Leaving Certificate with Trade Test III and must
    have a valid class ‘C’ Driving License or equivalent with at least three (3)
    years continuous driving experience. Must have a certificate from a
    recognized Driving School.
    REMUNERATION: Attractive Package will be offered within NIDA Scale.
