    THE NATIONAL AUDIT OFFICE (NAO)


    JOB VACANCIES

    The National Audit Office (NAO) invites applications from qualified Tanzanians of age not exceeding 40 years to fill various positions in the following Departments/Units:
    1.0 VALUE FOR MONEY (PERFORMANCE AUDIT DIVISION) (7 POSTS)
    The Performance Audit Division of NAO conducts audits that have a wider scope than the Financial Audit. The Performance Auditors examine Economy, Efficiency, and Effectiveness in government operations to find out if intended objectives have been achieved.
    1.1 Tasks
    A Performance Auditor identifies audit problems, design audits, collects and analyses data obtained through reading, interviews, surveys data bases, write and presents reports. The work entails frequent interaction with staff and managers of the auditees,
    1.2 Qualifications
    Degree in Public Administration, Human Resources Management, Sociology, Economics, Statistics, Law or Engineering. or related field from a recognized institution of higher learning. Use of computer and application of various soft wares such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint will be an essential requirement. Training in research methods will be an added advantage. The candidates should apply in the following positions:
    • Human Resource Officer Grade II (TGS D) 2 Posts
    • Administrative Officer Grade II (TGS D) 2 Posts
    • Legal Officer Grade II (TGS E) 2 Posts
    • Executive Engineer Grade II-Civil (TGS E) 1 Posts

    1.3 Experience
    The applicant should have a minimum of two years, working experience in the relevant field. Candidates with experience from investigative/evaluative work will be given priority.
    2.0 REGIONAL AND LOCAL AUTHORITIES ACCOUNTS DIVISION
    2.1 Auditor Grade II (TGS D) 54 Posts – Upcountry Regional Audit Offices
    The Regional and Local Authorities Division of NAO Audits government revenue collection and Expenditures as appropriated by parliament to Local Government Authorities to enhance transparency and accountability in the management of Public resources.
    2.2 Tasks
    Audit Government Revenue and expenditure; participate in preparation and implementation of workplan and audit programs, to assist in preparing the implementation programme of Annual Audit Plan, to assist in preparing and implementing Audit Programme and plans and Keeping different records of Accounts in the Office.
    2.3 Qualifications
    A holder of Bachelor of Commerce or Advanced Diploma in Accountancy from any recognized Institution. Use of computer and application of various soft wares such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint will be an essential requirement.
    2.4 Experience
    Applicants with at least 1-year working experience in the relevant field will be given priority.
    3.0 ADMINISTRATION AND HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT DIVISION (5 POSTS)
    The Administration and Human Resource Management Division of NAO provide expertise and services on human resources management and administrative matters to the Office.
    3.1 Administrative Officer Grade II (TGS D) 1 Post-
    3.1.1 Tasks
    Translate and advise on the implementation of laws, rules, regulations and policies on Human Resources Matters. Keeping records of important events in the Office.
    3.2. Human Resources Officer Grade II (TGS D) 1 Post
    3.2.1 Tasks
    Develop and maintain employees database in the office, Translating and implementing of Scheme of Service and Prepare long and short term training, plans as well as workforce plans.
    3.2.2 Qualification (Administrative Officer/Human Resource Officer)
    Holder of a Bachelor Degree in Public Administration, Human Resources Management, Public Management or Sociology or Law from any recognized Higher Learning Institution. Use of computer and application of various soft wares such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint will be an essential requirement.
    3.3 Legal Officer Grade II (TGS E) 1 Post-
    3.3.1 Tasks
    To give advice and making investigation about legal matters whenever needed in accordance with the office and communicate with other offices about legal matters.
    3.3.2 Qualifications
    Holder of Bachelor Degree in Law from any recognized Higher Learning Institutions. Qualified applicant should have completed School of Law/Internship recognized by Attorney General’s Chambers. Use of computer and application of various soft wares such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint will be an essential requirement.
    3.4 Information Officer Grade II (TGS D) 1 Post
    3.4.1 Task
    To collect and write information, take photographs, prepare photographs for festival, keep photographs and to provide services in library and references. Prepare journal and posters, collect different statistics and prepare magazine and tracks.
    3.4.2 Qualifications
    Holder of bachelor degree/Advanced Diploma in Journalism or related field from recognized Institutions of Higher Learning. Use of computer and application of various soft wares such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint will be an essential requirement.
    3.5 Personal Secretary Grade III (TGS B) 1 Post
    3.5.1 Tasks
    To perform routine typing activities, to receive and interview office visitors and direct them, to keep and maintain all office records. To manage in-coming and out-going files, to prepare meetings. To maintain Records, events, appoints and working schedules and to list office equipments and stationery.
    3.5.2 Qualifications
    Holder at least Form Four National Examination Certificate
    Holder of Secretarial Stage III Certificate issued by the Tanzania Public Service College or any recognized Institution.
    Shorthand Speed of 80 w.p.m (English and Swahili)
    Certificate in Computer knowledge (Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet, Email and Publisher Programmes).
    4.0 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY UNIT
    4.1 Computer Systems Analyst Grade II (TGS D.) 2 Posts-
    4.2 Tasks
    Keeping records current systems and techniques of doing work, providing Technical support in the Office and implementing chat/scheme of procedures of system information behaviors and computer control, maintain and updates inventory of all hardware as well as software packages and Ensuring security of access to computer systems.
    4.3 Qualifications
    Holder of Bachelor Degree/Advanced Diploma in Computer Science from any recognized Higher Learning Institution.
    5.0 COMPETENCIES
    Applicants for all positions should be persons of high integrity, creative; self motivated and have both analytical and good communication skills, as well as proficiency in both Kiswahili and English language.
