    [FONT=&amp]This following are fixed term contracts (with a possibility of extension) in line with GVEP International’s philosophy, donor requirements and stakeholder expectations. The roles will help deliver the CARE[SUP]2[/SUP] project described below in a complex environment. [/FONT] [FONT=&amp]Capital Access for Renewable Energy Enterprises (CARE[SUP]2[/SUP])[/FONT][FONT=&amp] project funded by Sida. GVEP International is implementing all aspects of this programme which will support the growth of a sustained market for renewable energy, focusing on “e-MSMEs” (energy-focused micro, small and medium sized enterprises) in East Africa, as a means to drive economic prosperity. The project has three main components, namely a Technical Assistance Facility (TAF), a Loan Guarantee Fund (LGF) and Pipeline Development Projects (PDPs)[/FONT]
    [FONT=&amp]REGIONAL BUSINESS MENTORS – 4 POSITIONS [/FONT]
    [FONT=&amp]Report to: Business Development Services Coordinator[/FONT]
    [FONT=&amp]Based in: Lake Zone, Tanzania[/FONT]
    [FONT=&amp]Main responsibilities include: [/FONT]
    • [FONT=&amp]Assisting in the mobilisation and recruitment of entrepreneurs into the project[/FONT]
    • [FONT=&amp]Mentoring entrepreneurs on a regular basis: identifying needs, supporting business planning and providing practical solutions to arising issues[/FONT]
    • [FONT=&amp]Empowering entrepreneurs in order to help them access loans from Financial Institutions and administer them soundly[/FONT]
    • [FONT=&amp]Conducting initial due diligence of prospective loan applicants and following up with entrepreneurs who have successfully obtained a loan[/FONT]
    • [FONT=&amp]Providing Business Development Support (BDS) Coordinators in market development activities[/FONT]
    • [FONT=&amp]Collecting M&E data – using feedback from this data to advise entrepreneurs on further improving their businesses [/FONT]
    • [FONT=&amp]Providing weekly reports to the BDS Coordinators[/FONT]
    [FONT=&amp]Requirements[/FONT] · [FONT=&amp]Minimum of a diploma in marketing or business development from a recognised institution [/FONT] · [FONT=&amp]Minimum 2 years of experience in product marketing, particularly in rural settings[/FONT] · [FONT=&amp]In depth knowledge on business plan preparation and experience in business lending by a Financial Institutions[/FONT] · [FONT=&amp]Good communication and writing skills[/FONT] · [FONT=&amp]Willingness to provide services in rural settings[/FONT] · [FONT=&amp]Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision[/FONT]
    • [FONT=&amp]Willingness and license to use a motorbike to travel extensively within the Lake Zone region[/FONT]

    [FONT=&amp]TECHNOLOGY MENTOR, SOLAR PHONE CHARGING – 1 POSITION[/FONT]
    [FONT=&amp]Reports to: Business Development Services Coordinator[/FONT]
    [FONT=&amp]Based in: Mwanza, Tanzania[/FONT]
    [FONT=&amp]Main responsibilities include: [/FONT] · [FONT=&amp]Support recruitment of entrepreneurs through assessing their technology skills [/FONT] · [FONT=&amp]Training entrepreneurs on solar phone charging technology (covering system sizing, quality, installation, operations and maintenance) alongside the business training offered by the Business Development Services team[/FONT] · [FONT=&amp]Mentoring entrepreneurs by identifying their technology needs that will also be useful in business planning and providing practical solutions to any arising technology issues[/FONT] · [FONT=&amp]Assisting in technical due diligence for loan applications[/FONT] · [FONT=&amp]Providing support to BDS coordinators in market development activities[/FONT] · [FONT=&amp]Provide regular reports to the BDS Coordinator as may be required from time to time.[/FONT] [FONT=&amp]Requirements[/FONT] · [FONT=&amp]Minimum of a diploma in renewable energy technologies or electrical engineering with in depth knowledge of solar technology[/FONT] · [FONT=&amp]Minimum of 2 years of experience in related field[/FONT] · [FONT=&amp]Willingness to provide services in rural settings[/FONT] · [FONT=&amp]Record of working with minimal supervision[/FONT] · [FONT=&amp]Good communication and writing skills[/FONT] · [FONT=&amp]Ability to manage and prioritise numerous tasks simultaneously[/FONT] · [FONT=&amp]Willingness and license to use the motorbike to travel extensively within the Lake Zone[/FONT]
